A terribly confusing question, but one I am in desperate need of help with!!!

Fellow DISers! I come to you again for help!!! We currently have a room/tix package booked at AoA for Late January. We had planned on adding the dining plan before we paid the package off in early December BUT as life has it, we've hit a snag. We are having to replace our roof I was considering dumping the package in favor of a room only ressie. Here's where all the questions come in...for some reason I have in my head that you have longer to pay off a room reservation, is this true? Also, would I be able to add the dining plan without adding tickets around late December or even early January, or would I have to add tickets too? We refuse to abandon Disney this year but the roof replacement is really making it hard to work on such a tight schedule. We want to do dining because its just so much more convenient to have it all paid for in advance. *sigh* Any direction would be appreciated.

You can only add dining plan if you also add tickets unless you are DVC or AP holders. That being said, yes you can change your package to a room only. You would have to pay the first nights rate to hold the room but do not pay the balance until check-in. Hope that helps.

If you cancel and book a room only res they will refund the money on the package, you'll put down a one night room stay deposit, and the balance would be due at check in.

You can not add the DP without having a package (unless you're military, AP, DVC). If you want to add the DDP you'll need to either keep your current package, or if you do change over to a room only you'll have to cancel and rebook again. Personally, I'd just keep the package as is and add the dining plan later. You can add it up to 3 days before you arrive.

Just buy everyone in your party a Disney gift card to use for food. (Or big ones for adults if the kids aren't old enough to handle their own.)

If you hadn't seen this yet, I just wanted to add that new specials will be coming out October 8 (hopefully!) for your January stay.

The Promo's that will be released Oct 8th will be basically the same as last years. This is the Sell sheet from 2013. It will P/S/D & RO. The time period will be the same on both promo's
These are the dates...January 5, 2014 to March 2, 2014
March 16, 2014 to April 12, 2014...black out dates apply in between those dates

P/S/D = Play Stay Dine - RO = Room Only
