I don't know if you all remember my posting of my nephew and the attempted kidnapping. I also told the story of another attempted kidnapping and then a rape in the same area. This is where my mom and sister live, and where I once lived. Well it seems there was another kidnapping, this time of a little girl from the school. Another really horrible thing has happened and I am just in shock. There is a Genovese drug store in the town and the manager of the store was killed. That's bad enough but, this poor man was decapitated!!
We all knew him because he worked there for a while and he was always so helpful and nice. I use to work in the super market next door and saw him all the time, always saying hello. This man had a wife and children. There are lots of rumors going around as to what really happened. Supposedly it was a robbery, and there are other speculations. Let's all send prayers to this poor mans family. I'm sure they can really use it.

On another note I am really mad at the community where my mom and sis live. They cover up everything and didn't alert the town of this or the kidnapping until 2 weeks later!! They want to protect the reputation of the area:rolleyes: God forbid it gets a "bad name". Meanwhile there are kidnappers loose, and murderers! My God to cut a persons head off is really sick. I am so worried for my family. My nephew already almost got kidnapped!! What the heck is going on!!!???

Sorry, I just needed to vent.

OMG!!!!!! I don't know what to say. You and your family has my prayers.

That's really frightening.

It is!

Is the girl still missing? Has an Amber Alert been placed?

OMG I'm so sorry to hear that. In my opinion...if your town is hiding the news...I'd alert a National news company of the circumstances. There may be even more stuff that you're not aware of yet. Again sorry to hear this news..it's very saddening!

My goodness! I felt bad for the store manager and his family. :( I also hope everyone in that area remains safe and away from harm!

Very sad and very disturbing.:(

I, too am curious as to the neighborhood/area...is there a strong homeowners association there, or does it seem like more of a law enforcement cover-up...?

Best wishes to your family there.:(

Here's a link to the story that was in the paper when the man was missing. Ended up that he was eventually found behind the store in pieces! Apparently other body parts were cut off as well. I got this info because my DH partner's brother works for the Sherrifs dept. in this town. As far as the girl kidnapped, no one knows anything:confused: I also included a link to the other stories I mentioned.

Oh, it says Eckard because it was changed from Genovese to Eckard drug store. I still refer to it as what it was when I lived there!

This is a copy from the newspaper about my nephew:

Haverstraw town police are investigating two incidents, saying one of them seemed serious. They said a third encounter between an adult and a child in late February was nothing more than a woman driving around looking at houses.

The most serious incident came Monday afternoon when a man supposedly wanted to give a child walking home from school a ride home. The child attends Thiells Elementary School on Rosman Road and was walking along the road near his home when the man approached him.

Police described the man as white and middle-aged in an old beige van. He wore a gray sweat shirt and red hat.

Quite honestly I lived in a town like that as well. They would
cover up the news as well.

One time I had a fender bender, and I couldn 't get an officer to help. (A neighboring towns cops came--this intersection one section was one township and the other side was another)

They told me that usually they would have come, but they was someone in the high school with a GUN!!!! (This was after Columbine, and all that as well)

No mention of it was made to the news or media. This township has a public information officer, so they can keep things quiet.

That is truly frightening!! I'll pray that your family stays safe - as well as praying for that poor manager's family..
