My point is, think about what you will really need for a warm weather vacation. You spend a lot of time wearing bathing suits, with maybe a cover up. That does not take a lot of space. Lightweight tops and dresses don’t take up a lot of space. I’ve definitely been able to pack what I’m going to wear for each day of a cruise in a carry on. And no, that does not involve wearing smelly or dirty clothes.
That’s great for you but not everyone’s packing needs are the same. I always check a bag because of the stupid liquids rule. The one time I tried carry on only (a non Disney trip) was an exercise in stress and frustration, because my hair products alone filled up half of the bag—hotel shampoo and conditioner ain’t it for natural Black hair, lol. Then when I bought souvenirs (a minimum, because I knew I didn’t have space, which was another buzzkill) I was stressed out trying to rearrange everything to fit and play bag Tetris. It was the whole opposite of fun and I refuse to do it again for my own sanity.
I also don’t pay to check bags on a couple of my favorite airlines due to credit card perks, so there’s really no reason to take on that extra stress. I check a bag and call it a day.
