I am just so excited, I have to share my story...about 2 weeks before Christmas, my DH got layed off...our Disney trip was our children's Christmas gift from "Santa" and was $200. away from being paid for when this happened. Thank goodness I did not push the "maybe Santa will get you a trip to Disney" issue, because with a layoff, there was no way I was going to go and my children would have been heart broken.
I decided to hold out cancelling until the last moment...we were booked for 6 nights at POP, with Dining....and I waited, and waited,,,,,,,,and waited, hoping DH would get a job. As the months passed, we decided that if he were to get a job, in this economy, there was NO WAY we would dare ask his new employer to allow him to go to Disney, thankful he got a job.
In the meantime, Disney had the 4/3 deal...now, my sister, who literally is broke...works, pays bills, but just can not keep her head above water told me how she wished so much that one day she could take her son to Disney. She has said this to me for years. Well, I reworked the figures and by adding the extra day we could upgrade to POR, have dining and bring my sister and her son with us for about $50.00 more (not including air.....so got her 2 tix on Southwest for like 59.00 each way)......I told her, YOU ARE GOING TO DISNEY WITH US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not rich by any means, and DH got a job that does not pay a lot by any means, but to be able to take my sister and her son and for me to take them with my 2 children and make them all so very happy, was worth the extra like....300.00 for us all to go together.
DH is sad he can't go, but was agreeable to us doing this, since we may never get the chance to all go again. I feel blessed to be able to do this, and very lucky TO be able to do this as well.
We leave June 15-22 for POR. If you see two really tall....REALLY TALL women with 2 boys and a girl (8,7,5) that is us.....say hello!
I am so thankful to be able to do this with and for my sister and children, I can not begin to tell you how happy I am.......
