A table for 2.5 please! Disney dining with a baby! NEW-Animator's Palate / The End!

So after our fun breakfast at Cape May Cafe, we went back to our villa where Leo took a nice long nap. That was supposed to be our swimming / relaxing day - but it was pouring rain until about 3pm! Eek!

So instead we went to Downtown Disney in the afternoon to do a little shopping before our dinner reservation at... Raglan Road! :yay:

I was especially excited about this dinner. Not just because it's always been one of our favourites places to eat at Disney World, but also because I was FINALLY getting to meet my good friend from the DISboards, trixiequilts!

Trixiequilts and I "met" on the DISboards years ago and instantly clicked. Although we had never actually met (she lives in the USA and I live in Australia), we have been emailing each other ever since - about Disney trips, family, friends, movies, Michael Phelps, Robert Pattinson... Just about everything you can think of, really!

To cut a long story short, it just so happened that Trixie and her Dad were planning a trip to Disney World for a few days while we were there - so of course, we HAD to meet! Since we both share a love for Raglan Road desserts (namely, the bread pudding) we decided to catch up there and do dinner!

Leo was sleeping in his stroller when we arrived at Raglan Road, and they kindly let us bring the stroller in next to our booth to let him keep sleeping. We checked in at the podium and... there was Trixiequilts! Yayyyy!

It was so lovely to finally meet her (and her dad!). It was my very first DIS meet and it was just so much fun. We chatted happily the whole time and enjoyed some great food, too.

So the food! The menu had changed slightly from the old version (and the one on AllEars). Sadly my favourite from past visits had disappeared - the chicken Pie In The Sky! But good news - it was still there secretly, as the "Pie of the day". Phew!

Flaky pastry, lots of chicken, creamy sauce... It was so delicious. And HUGE! Trixiequilts ordered the same and I know we both struggled to get through it all, knowing dessert was still to come. :thumbsup2

Conan went with another old favourite, the Keen Eye For The Shepherd's Pie...

He enjoyed this, as we had in past years. He gobbled it down pretty quickly if I remember correctly!

Trixie's Dad ordered the Fish & Chips, but I didn't want to bother him to take a photo! He really liked his meal, too.

One great thing we all liked about Raglan Road was not only the Irish music and dancing happening as we ate, but also the Irish comedy in the restrooms! Nothing like having a bit of a giggle as you do your business! :lmao:

Leo woke up quite early on into our meal, by the way, but was having a lovely time playing with Trixie, her Dad, the coasters and straws.

So then came dessert! :yay:

Trixie and I both ordered... *drumroll*... Ger's Bread & Butter Pudding!

Hurrah! It was even better than I remembered - and HUGE as well! As much as I wanted to, I just couldn't eat it all. But wow, those sauces are just fabulous with the warm bread pudding.

Conan chose exactly the same as we've had other years as well - the Dunbrody Kiss.

Basically it's just a little round dome of chocolate and chocolate and chocolate! He loved it! It's far too sweet for me, but clearly Conan has a serious sweet tooth!

I just love the atmosphere of Raglan Road. Initially I was a bit worried about bringing Leo there, because it does feel a bit like a noisy pub, but he was totally fine. Sure, it's noisy, but it's fun! There's singing, dancing, Irish jokes, great food... What's not to like!?

Overall, we had an excellent night at Raglan Road and it will remain on the top of our list to visit again. It was SO great to finally meet Trixiequilts and share some delicious Disney food with her! :cloud9:

We gave Raglan Road a score of :) :) :) :) and a half out of 5! (My highest score so far, I think!)

Next up... Our morning snacks and lunch at Animal Kingdom!

Hello! I finally made it! I tried to do a long post with a ton of quotes this afternoon, but many things were working against me. I haven't been on the boards for a looooong time, so I barely remember how to do anything here, I don't know how to use the mac that is the only functional computer in our house right now, and when I was finally making progress, it started to pour down rain so I had to go pick up DD11 from school. Of course when I got back, all of my hard work was gone. So now it looks like I only came here after you mentioned me...but that's not true!

I'm going to go back now and try again to do what I started this afternoon. :)

As i started reading the Raglan Road review I was thinking "OH I HOPE SHE HAD THE BREAD PUDDING!!" and then I read the line about you and your friend both loving it and excited to order it agaiN! Yay! That is one of if not THE best desserts I've had at Disney, the Ohana bread pudding might make it a tie though with the yummy sauce.

Anyway - oh back to the days where the meal time was all about the food! LOL I love that Leo is so great at restaurants just jealous to think back to those days! :goodvibes

Are you planning to do a TR too, or the dining report only? I'd love to hear more about your trip with Leo although I guess on this day there wasnt too much else except relax time & shopping!

Your experience at CMC is very interesting to me given the time of year you were there - we went for the first time in August (CROWDS, CROWDS, CROWDS everywhere), and it was almost empty, characters were right there as soon as we arrived and visited multiple times. Maybe it was the fact that we were there quite early in the morning? :confused3 Very strange!

Mmmm - the Raglan Road food looks and sounds amazing! I'm so glad you had a good time. I had originally had it booked for our first dinner in August but changed it when I changed our resort. I am still kind of sad about that - it seems like such a fun place, and I have heard that you can get almost anything gluten-free there (including fish and chips!) - Gah! why didn't we do it!? :scared:

OH MY GOODNESS! My Frozen Sunshine was amazing! Definitely my favourite drink of our entire time at Disney World. Maybe even my favourite drink anywhere!

But did you like it, really? :lmao: I know you love Dole Whip Floats and I'm wondering how you would compare it to those? Sweeter (is that possible)? More drink-like? More ice-creamy? Obviously more orangey and less pineappley, but similar?

Conan was happy with his Coke Float too... But it was certainly no Frozen Sunshine!

And it certainly wasn't a Coke Slushie from Pop. :sad2: (Sorry, Conan!)

He's going through a tricky stage where he wants to eat everything we are, but doesn't know what to do with it once he has it in his hands. And he's not a fan of baby pureed food (or spoons in general!) so it's really about experimenting for him at this age. He did have a little taste of my ice-cream though, and seemed to quite like it!

How is he doing with foods now that you're home and settled? He was very interested in watching you and Conan eat and was really checking out your food. Pretty quickly he'll be eating you out of house and home!

It was a hot morning that day, so we were looking forward to sitting down in the air-conditioning and enjoying a yummy lunch.

This was which day? Thursday?

My buddy! Seriously, when he first smiled at me, he won my heart! :cloud9: And he's wearing his MagicBand!

Our server was quite nice and dropped off some rolls and freezing cold butter for us.

Why, why, why does the butter ALWAYS have to be so cold??? :cold: I don't like my bread torn to shreds while trying to spread it, and I don't like huge chucks of frozen butter gooping up my teeth while eating my rolls!

Conan, on the other hand, loved his choice of entree. He had the "Seared Chicken Breast - toasted fregola, peas, tomato chutney, and lemon butter sauce."

I had to look up fregola to see what it was. Did you know it is typical in the southwestern part of Sardinia and was imported by Ligurian immigrants that came from the Genoese colony of Tabarka in Tunisia? Thank you, Wikipedia!

...then while Leo napped mid-morning, we grabbed my favourite food in the whole of WDW...The pineapple float from Aloha Isle! Ahhhhh! Seriously, I could have just eaten these all day and been a very happy girl!

Mmmm. Perfection in a cup. Did I ever tell you that on One More Disney Day (Leap Day 2012) I ate three in one day? Granted, we were in the park for 24 hours, but still! My first was at 8:21 a.m., then one in the afternoon, and then one at 3-something a.m. The line was the longest at 3 a.m.!!! And on this trip, since I knew we weren't going to be in the parks but we were planning on going to Captain Cooks, I brought my own pineapple juice and made a float myself, ghetto style! We (meaning ALL of us) definitely need to move to Hawaii!

Orange Dole Whip! I'd only ever tried pineapple, but this was pretty darn good too!

But not better than the pineapple float or the Sunshine thingie from Beaches and Cream, right? Just keeping a mental scorecard for the next trip. :)

"Apple Mixed Greens with herb grilled chicken breast, dried cranberries and goat cheese with pomegranate vinaigrette." This was actually really, really good. Ultra fresh and tasty! I especially loved the crunchy green apple pieces in there. I'd definitely order this again.

This sounds delicious. My favorite salad has goat cheese and blueberry vinaigrette. Too bad it's at a restaurant that is 3 hours away. :sad1:

Helloooo Trixiequilts!

I'm so glad you made it! Thank you for popping in! Don't you hate when life gets in the way of DISboarding!? Hehee. Nevertheless, you made it and I'll get to your other replies in a bit...

As i started reading the Raglan Road review I was thinking "OH I HOPE SHE HAD THE BREAD PUDDING!!" and then I read the line about you and your friend both loving it and excited to order it agaiN! Are you planning to do a TR too, or the dining report only? I'd love to hear more about your trip with Leo although I guess on this day there wasnt too much else except relax time & shopping!

Yes! I HAD to have the bread pudding! Is there another option, really!? It's so good. Ooh yes, the Ohana bread pudding is great as well... But I think Raglan Road sneaks just over the edge for me!

Ahh, those were indeed the days, when meal time was about the food! A lady I used to teach with gave me great advice when I pregnant - to go out to nice restaurants as much as we could before our baby arrived, because it'll never be the same after that! Hehee. Still though - little Leo and Aria are so much fun, we wouldn't have it any other way. :)

I'm not going to write a trip report this time, no... I think it would really just be, "And then Leo had a feed, and then Leo had a nap, and then Leo woke up, and then Leo got grizzly..." It would really just be the Leo trip report! Hehee.

Thank you for continuing to read and reply! :woohoo:

That is bizarre about Cape May Cafe! I wonder why it was so busy when we went. Free dining time, maybe!? Or perhaps like you said, about the times. We were one of the final sittings so it might have just built up throughout the morning. There were people queuing up trying to get a table and of course being refused, because they didn't have an ADR. :confused3

Raglan Road has always been one of our favourite restaurants at Disney World! You'll definitely have to go there next time! I didn't know about the gluten-free thing! Thanks again for reading and replying! :yay:

But did you like it, really? :lmao: I know you love Dole Whip Floats and I'm wondering how you would compare it to those? Sweeter (is that possible)? More drink-like? More ice-creamy? Obviously more orangey and less pineappley, but similar?

Bwahaa, I LOVED my Frozen Sunshine! Can you tell!? ;) I think you hit the nail on the head with all your suggestions... It was sweeter, more drink-like and more orangey than Dole Whip Floats. And also more creamy! You'll have to try it next time!

How is he doing with foods now that you're home and settled? He was very interested in watching you and Conan eat and was really checking out your food. Pretty quickly he'll be eating you out of house and home!

Leo is getting much better with his food! It's still slow going and 99% of it ends up on the floor, but he loves it and enjoys tasting and experimenting. He loves toast, strawberries, spiral pasta and peaches the most lately, although it changes a lot. He usually picks the food up, studies it for a while, shoves a bit of it in his mouth and gnaws on it, before dropping it to the ground. He's definitely getting some of it down though. Much better than trying to poke a spoon in his closed mouth, anyway! He'll get there eventually, I'm sure. popcorn::

This was which day? Thursday?

The hot day? Yes, Thursday! Our first full day we were there. (I think! It feels like ages ago now!)

My buddy! Seriously, when he first smiled at me, he won my heart! :cloud9: And he's wearing his MagicBand!

Aw! He loved you too! Remember how mesmerised he was by you!? :goodvibes Yes, he wore his MagicBand the first day, just because we thought it was cute! But he didn't wear it again after that because there was no point! Hee.

Why, why, why does the butter ALWAYS have to be so cold??? :cold: I don't like my bread torn to shreds while trying to spread it, and I don't like huge chucks of frozen butter gooping up my teeth while eating my rolls!

I know! The butter must come out of freezing cold fridges!! :confused3

I had to look up fregola to see what it was. Did you know it is typical in the southwestern part of Sardinia and was imported by Ligurian immigrants that came from the Genoese colony of Tabarka in Tunisia? Thank you, Wikipedia!

I had no idea was fregola was! Wow! Thank you Wikipedia and Trixiequilts! :surfweb:

Three Dole Whip Floats in a day! Hee! That's awesome! I wonder if there's a record for that. I love that you made your own ghetto style float, that's hilarious! Did it taste the same?! Yes! Let's all move to Hawaii! Or at least all meet there for a holiday one day. It's a deal!! :dance3:

This sounds delicious. My favorite salad has goat cheese and blueberry vinaigrette. Too bad it's at a restaurant that is 3 hours away. :sad1:

Yum! 3 hours away, bah. You could make a little daytrip of it one day! I love anything with goats cheese in it, really. Blueberry vinaigrette sounds interesting though! Is it blue!?

Thanks so much for all your fun comments as you read, Trixie. You're awesome!! :laundy:

It was also raining pretty hard that day, almost constantly. There goes our swimming day! Ah well, we were at Disney World - there was plenty of other things to do!

Yep, this was supposed to be our morning exploring Fort Wilderness in all of it's Spanish-mossy glory. Instead, we ran in the rain to Trails End and got soaking wet! (That's what happens when you don't remember to bring an umbrella with you. Duh!) I didn't get to see the stables or even one single horse. I wanted to meet Ike, the Headless Horseman's horse! But we did have a very enjoyable breakfast at a nearly empty Trails End.

I really didn't expect much from the food here - we really only made the ADR because of the characters and the fact we were staying at the Beach Club - but wow! It was all delicious! My favourite was the orange & cranberry bread.

I make a very delicious orange-cranberry bread during the holidays. You really need to come here for Thanksgiving! Do you have/eat cranberries very often there?

Again, all these were great - though not as great as the orange & cranberry bread!

Maybe I should mail you some!

We'd been in the restaurant for almost an hour by that time and were still waiting for the rest of the characters...

Wow, that's a really long time to wait, even for adults. You would think they would want to keep people moving in and out of there as fast as possible. $$$

Leo was actually wearing a little Donald Duck outfit for the morning, so Donald made a big thing of it, which was cute. Very quickly after that, Minnie Mouse popped over to say hi... Clearly Leo wasn't as fussed with Minnie! Yawns! :lmao:

Aww, Leo's little Donald outfit is adorable (and I still love his shoes)! How funny that he was bored with Minnie. I guess he thought she needed a bill or some whiskers to play with!

Oh yes, the rainy day! You still did a lot of fun stuff that day though, even if you didn't get to see your horses.

Yum! We might have to come directly to your house one Thanksgiving... Delicious orange-cranberry bread, pumpkin pies and shopping the next day! We do have cranberries, but they're not used a whole lot really. My old boss used to like making almond and cranberry sandwiches... Literally two almonds with a cranberry in between! Bwahaa!

Wow, that's a really long time to wait, even for adults. You would think they would want to keep people moving in and out of there as fast as possible. $$$

It was a long time to wait! Especially with little Leo. I guess because we were there towards the end of the breakfast rotations so people were taking longer than usual!? I have no idea, really. :confused3

Aww, Leo's little Donald outfit is adorable (and I still love his shoes)! How funny that he was bored with Minnie. I guess he thought she needed a bill or some whiskers to play with!

Hehee, he wasn't so much bored with Minnie, more just exhausted and ready to fall asleep at any moment! But yes, some whiskers may have helped! :lmao:

Thanks again for all your replies, I love them! :dance3:

Sorry for the delay in posting, everybody. Poor Leo has been unwell for the past week or so, but is definitely getting much better now. Phew!

So when we last left off, we'd had a rainy "day off" from the parks. The next day was our Animal Kingdom day! :yay:

I love Animal Kingdom... But I don't love how it always feels far more crowded and hot there than anywhere else in Disney World! That day was no exception, but we still had a fun morning riding the Safari, Everest (not Leo of course!) and Kali River Rapids. :thumbsup2

While Conan and I took turns to ride Everest and Kali River Rapids, Leo had a LONG nap in his stroller. Apparently the heat didn't bother him! As I wandered around with him, I grabbed this...

A delicious Frozen Strawberry Lemonade! I'm a bit obsessed with strawberry lemonade (something we don't really have in Australia) and this was so lovely and refreshing on a hot day. I sat on a bench and ate it while people watching in Asia while Leo napped. Nice!

At around 12.30ish we decided to stop for lunch, while Leo was still napping. (Usually he slept for around 1 - 1.5 hours in his stroller, but this day he slept for almost 3 hours!) I had a made a few QS options in my planning, and since Yak & Yeti (the counter service version) was nice and close, we headed there.

And WOW! The lines were long. I'm not sure if it's always like this, but I ended up waiting around 20 minutes while Conan looked for a table. To cut a long story short, that place was Crazy Town! :scared1:

Poor Conan had a lot of trouble finding a table. People were looming around next to people's tables who were still eating, then pouncing to grab the table as soon as they got up to leave. By some stroke of luck, Conan found a table just as a family were leaving and he went to sit down - before a lady appeared from nowhere, whisked out the chair from behind him and said quite nastily, "This is our table!" Yowza!! Heat and hunger certainly don't bring out the best in some people...

We eventually found a little table - only for the people next to us to literally steal the chair out from one of the places! I was so shocked I didn't even say anything... And they were speaking in another language anyway. In the end we asked a family nearby (politely!) if we could borrow one of their spare chairs and they said sure. Phew.

So after all that drama, we finally sat down to our food! Is it always like that at Yak & Yeti or did we just come upon a bad time!? :confused3

Leo was still sleeping happily in his stroller, totally unaware of the table debacle! :)

(We only noticed later that his arm was under one of the straps on the stroller, but it certainly didn't seem to worry him!)

And now... the food!

I ordered the Honey Chicken, which was served with steamed rice...

I don't know if it was the fact I was starving hungry, or if my expectations weren't very high, but this was delicious! Nice chicken and the sauce was sticky and sweet. There was also a good amount of vegies underneath the chicken, which were lovely mixed in with the rice.

Conan chose the Beef Lo Mein noodles...

These were also great! They were both quite large serves and he ate all of his. The noodles had an excellent amount of flavour and the beef was cooked well too. Two thumbs way up!

Our desserts weren't quite so great...

Mine was the Banana Pudding on the left, and Conan's was the Triple Chocolate Mousse on the right.

Honestly, there was nothing really "wrong" with either of them, but they weren't overly flavoursome and on a hot day, they both seemed quite heavy and gluggy. I should have gone with the frozen lemonade instead!

We gave Yak & Yeti QS :) :) and a half out of 5... A good place to grab a bite, but probably not worth lining up for so long again and battling people for tables!

Oh, and look who finally woke up after lunch! Happy baby!

Next up... Dinner at 'Ohana! :yay:

I always eat at the TS Yak and Yeti, but the QS entrees look good.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

I always eat at the TS Yak and Yeti, but the QS entrees look good.

They were great! We ate at the TS version a few years back and I wasn't really impressed. Is the food the same!? I'm not sure but I'd probably guess it is. At least with TS you wouldn't have to battle people for tables! I guess that's the advantage! ;)

I'm just going to keep going with the next review, because Leo is napping and I'm procrastinating from cleaning the floors. :thumbsup2

So after our fun day at Animal Kingdom, dinner that night was at 'Ohana! :cool1:

Conan and I both love 'Ohana... In fact, it's probably our favourite restaurant in Disney World! We've been there each time we've visited Disney, and there's something about it that just screams 'We're at Disney World!' to me.

So of course, we had to go back this time and take Leo with us. We had an early ADR time - 5.30pm, I think, and ended up catching a taxi over to the Polynesian so we didn't have to trek around on the buses. Worked well!

I just love the Poly! I love the smell of the lobby and the relaxed vibe of it all... We'll definitely have to stay there one day, when Leo is a bit bigger!

Anyway, we checked in and were given a buzzer, which went off straight away. Yay! We were taken to our table by a fellow Aussie and introduced to our server, who was lovely and I can't remember either of their names! Oops.

Almost straight away, our 'Ohana Welcome Bread arrived...

Fresh, warm and delicious! I had to remind myself not to each too much and fill up on just bread! Leo had a lovely time gnawing on some bread too. :)

Next came the salad - Mixed Greens with a Honey-Lime Dressing...

Which was also delicious. I'm not a huge salad person but the dressing was lovely and light, and it made a really nice side dish with the rest of the food.

Then came one of my favourite parts of the meal... the dumplings!

YUM! Seriously, these are just so good! Who doesn't love dumplings!? Again, I had to remind myself not to fill up on them because there was plenty more food to come! :goodvibes

We had a little break from the food then, which was good timing to let things settle a bit. The singing / dancing lady (what's her name again!?) came around, giving Hawaiian leis to kids and inviting them up to dance and join in with the coconut races. And look who got a pretty lei on his head!

Hee! I'm not sure if she thought he was a little girl, but nevertheless, it was very cute! Leo didn't seem to mind at all. He sat happily watching the kids playing the coconut races. A great distraction! (And yes, he is wearing a Hawaiian shirt for the occasion!)

And the food just kept on coming... Quickly!

The noodles and vegies...

Chicken from the skewers...

Prawns... (I mean, shrimp!)

There was also pork and steak, but I didn't have any of that so no photo, sorry!

Oh my goodness, I nearly forgot my very favourite part of the meal... The peanut sauce! I dipped everything in that peanut sauce! The other sauces were nice too, but I would have very happily just had that one. Especially with the wontons and chicken... Mmmm! ::yes::

By that time we were both getting pretty full. Our server was great and kept bringing us more of everything, even though we really didn't need it! Hehee!

And then of course, came dessert! 'Ohana bread pudding served a la mode with Bananas and Caramel Sauce...

Yummmmm! It definitely rivals the bread pudding at Raglan Road... But just falls short, I think. But still, it's so fantastic. Even though we were both full, we did a good job of eating almost all of that pudding! Little piggies! :lmao:

After all of that amazing food, we rolled home to the Beach Club and slept very soundly! :rotfl:

Seriously though, we continue to just love 'Ohana. It will always be on top of my list of places to eat at Disney World. It's fun, laid-back, great food and just has that magical Disney vibe.

We gave 'Ohana :) :) :) :) :) out of 5! Hoorayyy! :cool1:

Next up... Pizza Planet lunch and more F&W Festival for dinner!

I had the Yak and Yeti CS Beef and noodles and I agree..it was very filling and delicious ...and quite a bit for the money... AND sadly the outdoor sitting area is not really good...

We are anxiously waiting for April to come so we can try the Ohana dinner...we are going with our son and daughter in law and two grandkids...and this place we have never tried in 20 odd years of going to Disney..

Thanks so much for your great photos and reviews...and sweet Leo too..

I’m so sorry to hear that Leo has been sick. Glad he is getting over it. It’s so hard when your kiddo is ill. :(

Yikes! The table situation was down-right scary at Y&Y CS. I think that’s where we stopped for a snack at AK one day, and the table situation was a nightmare then too. We were lucky to just be snacking - not nearly as bad as trying to juggle a whole meal. Luckily, it sounds like your food was really good at least (I don’t count dessert because I don’t care about it as much [rotfl])! :woohoo:

Love the adorable Leo pics! :lovestruc

I’m glad you had a great experience at ‘Ohana. My favorite moment though is Leo with the lei on his head.

Aw! He loved you too! Remember how mesmerised he was by you!?

I think I figured out that whole situation. You know how things are totally different in the U.S. and Australia? Like our seasons are opposite and toilets flush in the opposite direction (maybe...I can't believe we've never talked about that :rotfl2:)? Anyway, that's why Leo liked me...he was in Bizarro World! I bet all Australian babies would like me! Maybe you should have another quick a second so I can test my theory! :goodvibes

I love that you made your own ghetto style float, that's hilarious! Did it taste the same?! Yes! Let's all move to Hawaii! Or at least all meet there for a holiday one day.

Yes! It tasted totally the same!   Meeting in Hawaii sounds fabulous! ::yes::

Blueberry vinaigrette sounds interesting though! Is it blue!?

Well, bluish-purple, like what cooked squashed blueberries look like.

Yum! We might have to come directly to your house one Thanksgiving... Delicious orange-cranberry bread, pumpkin pies and shopping the next day!

Ooooooh! We would have such a good time!!!! I'll start getting the house ready!!! Just let me know when you'll be here. I think we should all head down to Disney World after the weekend and continue the party there! :cheer2:

My old boss used to like making almond and cranberry sandwiches... Literally two almonds with a cranberry in between! Bwahaa!

A fresh cranberry? Or a dried one? I can't imagine eating a fresh one just for fun! They're bitter! :scared: DD14 gave one to my FIL the night before Thanksgiving last year as I was making the now infamous bread. He took one chew and immediately spit it out right then and there! :upsidedow He only ate it because he thought it was a grape. Heehee!

I was especially excited about this dinner. Not just because it's always been one of our favourites places to eat at Disney World, but also because I was FINALLY getting to meet my good friend from the DISboards, trixiequilts!

I was so excited to meet you as well. But I have to admit, I was a little nervous. What if you didn't like me in person? What if you saw me and ran away screaming? Weird things have been known to happen when meeting strangers from the internets. :smokin: My DH even told my mom that he hoped I wasn't too nervous! But I didn't have to be nervous! It was great!

We checked in at the podium and... there was Trixiequilts! Yayyyy!

I hope I didn't spook you...I was just so excited!

Sadly my favourite from past visits had disappeared - the chicken Pie In The Sky! But good news - it was still there secretly, as the "Pie of the day". Phew!

We were :scared1:, then , then , then :worship:!

Conan went with another old favourite, the Keen Eye For The Shepherd's Pie.

All I remember about his dinner was that it was bigger than it had looked in pictures and that it was gone really fast!

Trixie's Dad ordered the Fish & Chips, but I didn't want to bother him to take a photo! He really liked his meal, too.

You could have taken a pic of his food. He thinks it's totally normal after being with me for a few days!

One great thing we all liked about Raglan Road was not only the Irish music and dancing happening as we ate, but also the Irish comedy in the restrooms! Nothing like having a bit of a giggle as you do your business!

I'm was so glad it actually existed! :mic:

Leo woke up quite early on into our meal, by the way, but was having a lovely time playing with Trixie, her Dad, the coasters and straws.

He was an absolute pleasure! I couldn't believe how happy he was right when he woke up.

I didn't get through all of mine, either, and not for lack of trying! We totally took our time, too. I would give it a perfect dessert rating except for those stinking raisins.

Overall, we had an excellent night at Raglan Road and it will remain on the top of our list to visit again. It was SO great to finally meet Trixiequilts and share some delicious Disney food with her! :cloud9:

Like I said before, I feel totally blessed that it happened. You, Conan and Leo are just the greatest! :grouphug:

Yum you ate so well!! :goodvibes The Y&Y CS looks great though the wait and table debaucle looks intimidating! ugh!

Ohana looks like it was so much fun. Nice that you both enjoy the food - the peanut sauce IS delicious! They put the leis on boy's heads like that, the put them around the necks of girls - I've seen that in hawaii too. He was dressed too cute to be mistaken for a girl! Adorable!

Oh, you'll love Ohana! It seems like the perfect place for a big family dinner - after all, Ohana means family! ;) Lots of delicious food to share in a relaxed environment is always a winner! Thank you so much for continuing to read and reply. I'm so glad you're still enjoying it!

Leo is all better now, thank you! It turned out to be just a virus but he's our first baby so of course we worry! His temperature was sky-high for a few days but there was no other symptoms, which was odd. But he's back to his normal cheerful self now, which is great. :goodvibes

Yes, Yak & Yeti was crazy! I wonder if it's always like that then, since you had a similar situation. It's a small seating area for a popular dining spot. But yes, the food was great, luckily! Hehee, I think Leo with the lei on his head at Ohana was my favourite moment too. :lmao:

Thank you so much for reading along!!

:goodvibes

Bwhaaa! That's hilarious! You'll just have to come over to Australia and test out the baby bizarro world theory then, won't you!? :lmao:

Ooooooh! We would have such a good time!!!! I'll start getting the house ready!!! Just let me know when you'll be here. I think we should all head down to Disney World after the weekend and continue the party there! :cheer2:

That sounds like a perfect plan! Oooh, maybe one day! Once Leo is a bit more grown up, maybe. But then your girls will be too grown up and at college or something crazy! :scared1:

A fresh cranberry? Or a dried one? I can't imagine eating a fresh one just for fun! They're bitter! :scared: DD14 gave one to my FIL the night before Thanksgiving last year as I was making the now infamous bread. He took one chew and immediately spit it out right then and there! :upsidedow He only ate it because he thought it was a grape. Heehee!

Ooh, it was a dried cranberry that he used in his almond sandwiches. I don't think I've ever eaten a fresh cranberry... I love cranberry juice though, but I'm sure that's packed with lots of sugar. I'll remember not to take a cranberry from your DD14 then!

Hehehee, meeting strangers from the internets! Naaah, it never would have happened. It was just like you said - it's like we'd already met hundreds of times before! So much fun.

All I remember about his dinner was that it was bigger than it had looked in pictures and that it was gone really fast!

Yes! Conan's dinners always disappear quickly. I've learnt to eat quicker now that Leo's around, but he's always eaten quickly so he can't use that excuse!

Like I said before, I feel totally blessed that it happened. You, Conan and Leo are just the greatest! :grouphug:

Aww, thank you! You and your Dad are pretty awesome too! :yay:

Yum you ate so well!! :goodvibes The Y&Y CS looks great though the wait and table debaucle looks intimidating! ugh!

Ohana looks like it was so much fun. Nice that you both enjoy the food - the peanut sauce IS delicious! They put the leis on boy's heads like that, the put them around the necks of girls - I've seen that in hawaii too. He was dressed too cute to be mistaken for a girl! Adorable!

Ahh, thank you for the info about putting leis on boy's heads! We thought it might have been for safety, since putting a stretchy lei around a baby's neck wouldn't have been the best idea. Glad you liked Leo's clothes... Coming from the Queen of baby's beautiful clothing, that means a lot! :worship:

Hey I've been meaning to tell you... Leo now LOVES those little cereal puffs and yoghurt drops you recommended! He's able to pick them up much more easily now, and shovels them into his mouth, chews and swallows! Hooray! He also loves avocado sandwiches (though most of that still ends up on the floor), kiwi fruit and watermelon. So he's definitely getting much better with his eating! :thumbsup2

I'll be back soon with the next review!

some great reviews & lovely pictures.
Thanks for sharing them with us. :)

Yak & Yeti is where we usually go, we didn't manage to go last time as we were at the other end of the park and I was a bit cranky as I was tired and thirsty. :rotfl2:
We went to another restaurant and the wait and seating, was as bad as Y&Y usually is.
So perhaps its all of Ak's restaurants.

Looking forward to seeing more reviews. :goodvibes
