a stupid question about dings

can someone please explain to me what they are and how you use them?

I'm going to give this a try. I'm not the best at explaining things, so here goes: Dings are time sensitive airfare specials from Southwest. It can be downloaded from the SWA website and an icon will be on your computer. When a little envelope comes up, there will be reduced fares that will expire at a certain time that day. i guess they tend to be for flights a couple of months off, not for a date that's just a few days off...

There could be Dings for a few days off. Like in Dec., there could be a Dec. Ding. But I personally wouldn't chance that. My nerves would be a wreck!!!

we're going sometime early next month (november) but i'm not sure yet when..
so you think there might be a ding then?
hmm..
i just don't like putting that application on my computer..
i can't put it on my work laptop - massive firewalls...
so that means putting it on this computer (my son's)
