A STUPID moment

I opened up the TT this afternoon to take advantage of the good weather, and opened the awning to dry it out, too. for some reason I didn't lock the cross bars that connect at the top of the TT and go to the outside of the awning. I left them so they were slid down about halfway to the bottom of the lower telescoping bars that connect to the bottom of the TT.

Went out a few minutes ago to close it up, and I have totally screwed up the awning. There must have been enough of a breeze to push the awning against the TT. Since I didn't lock the upper bars in place the lower bars were pushed against them. Now the lower telescoping bars are both bent upward. I can't lower the awning in order to close it.

The only thing I can hope for is to be able to slide the upper section of the telescoping bars off the top end, then replace the lower section of the bar that connects to the bottom of the TT. Might be cheaper than replacing the entire awning.

Stupid, stupid, stupid...

A couple of years ago, while driving the back road to Kroger, I hit a cement curb and busted my right rear tire. We had just gotten new tires the week before. I called DH and he was slightly irritated, but came right out to get me. He put on the spare and I took it to the tire place the next day to get a new tire. That same afternoon, I was heading back to Kroger and guess what I did? Yes, just 24 hours later I busted my 4 hour old tire on the same cement curb. DH was way more irritated that time! When I went back to the tire dealer the next day, those men has a field day aggravating me. I know I should have more pride than to tell that story, but the fact of the matter is we all do stupid things. I just do more than most.

Well, it cost $60, but I got it fixed. The lower end of the telescoping bars slipped off, and the local RV dealer had some in their graveyard. It's back together again.

That's 2 bone-headed moves this year. That had better be my quota.

Glad it was an easy and cheap fix.
