A Stringbean, a Wingnut, and a plan! (A January '12 PTR) TRIP REPORT STARTED!! 1/16!!

Hi Sara :goodvibes

I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful! Doesn't it go ridiculously fast? Ugh, and now Christmas is closing in and that's my favorite holiday! Slow down time, slow down!

I'm taking my girls to see the Muppets this weekend! They can hardly wait, neither can I. I'm glad to hear it got the Stringbean/Wingnut approval.:thumbsup2

Your decorations are great and your apartment is adorable! I love the stockings and yours made me chuckle because I too chose the snowman for mine and gave DH the Santa one. Great minds, great minds.

I love your sparkly banister too. Garland makes everything more festive. It looks great! We have several banisters in our house and I always wrap greenery and lights all around them. I just love Christmas decorations! We're doing ours this weekend, including getting a tree. A real one.;) Oh, I have the PERFECT tree topper idea for you. An Epcot one of Spaceship Earth. Either that or a napolean...:rolleyes1

Hmm, scariest attraction? Probably ToT. You feel so totally out of control, free falling is pretty freaky. Yet I love it. Only problem is I have low blood pressure and well, I'm technically not supposed to ride it (but I do!). I love the theming, it's perfectly executed. Sometimes I'm annoyed if there's no line since we end up walking right through it all. I like to soak in the details. My DH hates this ride and I only learned that recently. We watched one of those behind the scenes WDW movies and they said the elevator is randomly programmed by a computer to create the drop sequences. Um, this didn't sit well with him since he's all "what the heck, a computer runs it?!?" My answer to that was, well, would you rather it be run manually?

Ok, favorite face character? That's a toughie. I'm partial to Jack Sparrow (heck who isn't?) and Tigger. Though the step-sisters are really really hilarious too.

Bummer that you're in that planning lull. You *could* always switch out another ADR somewhere I'm sure. Wow, the time will really go quickly for you now, what with the holidays rapidly approaching.:thumbsup2

I think your apartment looks so cute and I definitely think you need some type of Disney tree topper, of course! ;)

Scariest ride - ToT. The unpredictability of the drops unnerves me a bit.

Favorite face character - OMG - I have no idea, but I do think Aladdin is pretty easy on the eyes. :rotfl:

I did not get any mickey mail this trip - DVC and no ME =no Mickey mail!

Your apt is so wonderfully Christmasy! :goodvibes I know, bad English, but its true. I hope to go get our tree this weekend and put it up next week! We always get a real one.

I haven't seen the Muppets yet and I'm dying to! I need to fit it in somewhere. Along with Breaking Dawn! Ugh.

Day 23: The Scariest Ride: I have to go with Alien Encounter. That alien breathing down the back of my neck scared the bejeeses out of me!

Day 24: Your Favorite Face Character: Mad Hatter. DH & I saw him at 1900 Park Fare on our Disneymoon and he had us in stitches we were laughing so hard. Wonderful!

You have a really nice looking apartment Stringbean!

Scariest ride - that's easy....Hall of Presidents. That many politicians in the same room is like Fear Factor scary.

Favorite face character - Jasmine. Is she the only cast member in all of Disney World allowed to show bare stomach?

Hi Sara trying to get caught up w/ all my subs...

I hit that lull for our jan trip for diff reasons about a month ago, but now w/ some new developments am getting exciting to get this trip planned :cool1:

I love the banaster garland :thumbsup2 and cute tree!

to answer your questions:

scariest ride...um Journey into Imagination  seriously, first time I rode EE it freaked out a bit, now it rocks!

fav face character...wow this is hard  I 've had so many great interactions w/ them...but for me personally I loved Vidia the Fairy she was hilarious, great character. Sentimental will always be meeting Cinderella w/ Naomi-Ruth for the first time, she was wonderful w/ her :goodvibes

Your apartment is so cute! I love the decorations! I'm hoping to get my Christmas tree this weekend, I can't wait to start decorating!:cool1:

Hmmm...scariest ride...the Astro Orbiter. Not because it's scary exactly, but because if I stayed on it any longer, I felt like I might vomit. Which is very uncommon for me on rides, so that scared me! :rotfl:

I'm assuming my favorite face character would be Belle, if I was brave enough to talk to some princesses. Which I'm not. But I do love her. I think I'd really like Tiana and Naveen too, they seem fun! :thumbsup2

You have a lovely apartment and great Christmas decorations.

I totally get the planning lull, especially since I don't go planning crazy. I make a spreadsheet months in advance and..well...that's pretty much it. But you're getting very close. And now you can say you're going to Disneyworld next month!!!:yay:

I just wanted to say I love your apartment all decorated! We have decided not to put anything up until we get back. Usually I am one to have everything up the day after Thanksgiving, but this year, I thought that since we get home on a Saturday I'll need something festive to do on a Sunday to keep the post-Disney blues away a little longer!

Yep, that's the same bakery as the elephant cupcake. Its sort of hidden on the left towards the safari before the leather and face painting booth. I midst packing for December and decorating, but this year its very Disney themed. The last three years its been blue, white, and silve themed.

Day 23: The Scariest Ride

For something I rode, Splash. I hate drops. or Space Mountain, I hate not being able to see where I'm going. For something I haven't ridden, ToT scares me and RnRC, Mission Space, Dinosaur. Yep I'm a ride chicken!

Day 24: Your Favorite Face Character

Belle. Rapunzel. and Tiana. I just love Belle in general. But I appreciated Rapunzel and Tiana taking time to talk to me and not feel awkard to be a solo adult in their line to meet them. Can I add the parade performers? That has been be a tough job to do the same thing multiple times a day and weeks in all sorts of weather!

Ok awesome - I think I may have to take a little meander through there! Hahaha.

I don't mind Space and Splash TOO much, but I won't even go NEAR RnRC! It's okay, I'm a total ride chicken too!

That's really fun when the characters are just as interested in chatting with the adults as they are the kids. Oh definitely the parade performers too! That can't be an easy job!!

Ah, the dreaded planning lull. I know it well.

Your decorations are great! I love it when I'm all done and can stand back and just soak in the Christmasy feeling. We're putting ours up this weekend, after buying a new tree. For some reason, Gabriel is against my pink tree. :confused3 I was way too into the pink Christmas thing last year. Don't judge me. :lmao:

My scariest ride is also ToT, but in a good way. I'm a charter member of the Thrill Ride Wienies of America (no Islands of Adventure for me!), but I actually like most of the coasters at WDW. Except RnR. Not fun for me. But there's something about ToT's heart pounding :scared1: stomach dropping :scared1: OMG I'm gonna die :scared1: and ain't it great :thumbsup2 awesomeness that I love.

I am SO crazy. :upsidedow

My favorite face character is Jack Sparrow pirate:. My BFF and I had the BEST interaction with him! Two words: Awe. Some.

It's funny, because the trip is coming up so soon, to be in a lull like this! I'm like, there really should be SOMETHING I should be doing...right?

Thanks!!! I love having them up! Hahaha I think a pink tree sounds awesome, but I know Wingnut would never entertain the idea of a tree being any other color than green. Could it be an accompanying tree?

Oh how do I join the Thrill Ride Weenies of America??? I'd make a great member of that organization!!

Jack Sparrow is a great character, I've seen parts of their show outside POTC, and it looks really good!

The holidays do go SO fast, I'm still a bit unnerved that it's December already!

I hope you guys enjoy The Muppets! It's really cute, and they throw in a LOT of old Muppets references, which we loved!

Thank you!!! Actually, about that - I got our stockings backwards! Wingnut and I were talking about them yesterday, and he was like "no, remember, you got the Santa one, because you were making him wave."

Oh. Right. :rolleyes1

But that is fun that we have the same stockings though!!!

:lmao: I LOVE the Napoleon tree topper idea! Brilliant! The Spaceship Earth one sounds pretty perfect too! Enjoy putting up your decorations!!

That's too funny that your DH didn't realize that the elevator was computer-controlled! I do agree that it's probably a better plan than having someone back there pulling the strings!

I'm relying on the holidays making the time go faster - I don't think (think being the operative word here...) that we'll be changing any more of our plans. Probably.

I think your apartment looks so cute and I definitely think you need some type of Disney tree topper, of course! ;)

I did not get any mickey mail this trip - DVC and no ME =no Mickey mail!

Thank you!!! Maybe we'll be able to find something while we're down at Disney! I'm hoping for a little bit of the holiday stuff to still be out for the beginning of our trip!

Oooh, Aladdin...good one!

Your apt is so wonderfully Christmasy! :goodvibes I know, bad English, but its true. I hope to go get our tree this weekend and put it up next week! We always get a real one.

Day 24: Your Favorite Face Character: Mad Hatter. DH & I saw him at 1900 Park Fare on our Disneymoon and he had us in stitches we were laughing so hard. Wonderful!

Thanks!!! I've never had a real tree, it's definitely easier with the stairs to have a fake one!

Definitely go see the Muppets, it's really good! I haven't seen Breaking Dawn, but it has been doing really well, so I figure that's pretty good too!

I never actually went on Alien Encounter (just the revised Stitch edition), but I remember reading a description of it in one of the planning books years ago and being like "definitely not!".

You have a really nice looking apartment Stringbean!

Scariest ride - that's easy....Hall of Presidents. That many politicians in the same room is like Fear Factor scary.

Favorite face character - Jasmine. Is she the only cast member in all of Disney World allowed to show bare stomach?

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

:lmao: Imagine if they included the Vice Presidents too...hahaha

Ariel in certain costumes does show some stomach. (And Smee too...)

Your new developments are so great, you definitely must be excited to be getting the trip planned again!

Thanks!!!

Hahahaha hey, don't hate on Figment! ;)

Vidia looks like she'd be a great character to interact with! The fairies all look fun to visit, actually!

Your apartment is so cute! I love the decorations! I'm hoping to get my Christmas tree this weekend, I can't wait to start decorating!:cool1:

Thank you!!! Have fun decorating!

I've never been on Astro Orbiter, I think it's because of the elevator you have to go up in, I always think that it's going to be a slow-loading ride .

Nice place. Enjoy all of your holiday decorating! :santa:

Thank you!! You too!!!

You have a lovely apartment and great Christmas decorations.

I know, it's getting so close now!! I go dining planning crazy, I'll admit that .

I'm going to put my pink tree up somewhere for sure...it's small (tabletop size), so I'm sure I'll find it a place of honor.

If anyone dares give you a hard time about not riding thrill rides, just flash this at them:

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

I hope you don't mind that I highjacked your photo...it's the only one I found on recent pages.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: That's fantastic!! Thank you! I feel so official now! :rotfl:

:rotfl: Yes, I suppose Smee's tummy does slip out from under his shirt on occasion, but Jasmine's is much easier on the eyes.

Excellent! :rotfl2:

Hahaha that is true...poor Smee...Jack Sparrow gets all of the attention!
