Ruthie... I am so upset about the fridges too... I have no idea what we are going to do. With Allison who has a tendency to over heat, I am just sick that we won't have a fridge in our room... I just don't know what to do???

I wonder if a fridge is a medical necessity with Alli the way she is? Would I need a Dr's note?

I think it would be medical! Are you having groceries delivered? You could order one of those styrofoam coolers maybe and just keep it full of ice! I had to do that one year when we lost power for 4 days after a hurricane. They work pretty well - better if you cover the ice with tinfoil!

Don't be sorry you asked for an opinion I understand you are worrying but theres no reason she should overheat & end up in a hospital

Everything I have read on the Dis & especially the Disablities boards a refrig will be provided for medications You also asked on your thread about a drs note again according to everything I have read ( ie a GAC) by law (ADA , HIPPA ) no one can ask for or even look at a drs note

D~ What about the collapsible coolers? We have one & it works very well. It keeps ice fairly well for 2/3 days. You could collapse it & pack in one of your suitcases. Sorry, that's about all I can think of. I can tell you this, I would be really angry if it was affecting dvc rooms, since having the ability to cook in the resort is one of the main reasons we bought. The frig, toaster, and stove are as important as the air-conditioning on our vacations! But, it is a full size kitchen we need.

What about one of the rental places? do they rent them?

Hope Disney steps up to the plate on this issue.

Hi ! Yes still in the sunshine which means I SAVE $40 tomorrow as the lawn does not need to be cut and I cancelled the lawn guy

The cooler is an excellent idea as is putting drinks with ice in the sink overnight (was mentioned on D's PTR) I think Disney TOTALLY stepped up to the plate as a fire was in California and this is a preventive/proactive solution here for all resorts for the next few months ..except DVC & Ft Wilderness & other suites like AOA and AS Family Suites, but those are full size refrigs and have nothing to do with the problem

yes feeling good no real complaints and YES 6 more days until he's home !

Yes, I purchased 2 of them... I have not opened them yet - I still have them in my car from when they came in the mail... Need to get them out and try them out. I am praying between the frogg Toggs and putting stuff on ice, we will be OK.

D~ just so you know, the Frogg Toggs suggest you wash them before using. I was already to pack mine, then one out to use the other day the heat & humidity was so bad here. That's when I realized they say to wash them first. Meanwhile I had already had everyone try them for a little while to see who would wear them & who wouldn't. ooops, hope there was nothing too bad on them.

I got this off the POR thread quote:The room inventory survey of fridges is now complete, and not all rooms are affected (only around 50% at Riverside in fact, due to a bit of luck during the recent refurb) so requesting a fridge (even for non-medical reasons) might well get you one. I don't think this is going to be as big of a deal as people feared.

Trish no offense but actually it doesn't help unless it comes from an official Disney website (and there are many that look but aren't) it only is someones opinion which is what 99.9 % of the posts on these boards are That is why for example there is so much back and forth (and sad to say sometimes hostility) on some threads for example about FP + magic bands etc human nature sometimes likes to fall into "one up one another, be in the know" know what I mean ? I am NOT talking about you personally I know you are trying to help but:

You're right I love alot of sites, blogs, etc too but I read them for amusement and take the attitude of "We'll see" I mean I can start a website or a blog right this minute and say anything I want on it and somewhere someone in the world will take the information as Gospel and plan their vacations around it thats sad


I occasionally look at allears mousesavers etc but have found mistakes there too There are only 2 I go to and trust totally kenny the pirate for character location and his experiences and the OFFICIAL disney parks blog ...and in the case of Disney its run by higher ups of the Disney Corp...sort of out of the horses mouth KWIM ??


OH by the way LOVE the idea of Poly/AOA split stay AND next year BIG celebration kids 10 y/o YOU 40 ME 60 we wil have a BIG party !!
