I know this isn't much snow for some of you but it's kept us in the house for 2 days now. It might warm up enough to melt some of it today if not things don't look good for tomorrow either.

I remember in 1972 we got two inches of snow in Houston and it literally shut down that huge city for two days. No snow removal equipment there.

Looks like the kids are enjoying the snow.

I have a cousin that lives in the Dallas suburbs and he sent me an e-mail this morning with photos attached of the ice and snow they received. Just two days earlier he had sent me photos around his house of green grass and a blue sky, just incase I forgot what they looked like. So, for those in Texas who are dealing with this bad winter weather, blame it on my cousin!

Sure Kathy, those streets just look so bad. I don't think more than 5 cars have been down ours all day.

edited to add - I can see the rest now. I should try to find an old picture of my brother on our old pool. It was about 20yrs ago, we had to break the ice to keep the pump running. He put on his swim suit and posed for a few pictures laying on the ice. I quess that was worse than what we have now.

Later he fell in with his clothes on, he was not happy about that

It's up to 35 degrees here. Kids had no school yesterday, late start (3 hr. delay) today. The ice is off the roads now. Don't know what it will be like this evening. Hope DH doesn't have trouble getting home.

That's it, I am moving to Texas. There few inches makes our 24 inches last week look so so inviting. Oh besides, nothing like Texas men :D

We laughed until our eyes were moist!
Thanks !!
All your Disney friends in Buffalo, NY!!

Oh, I knew our northern neighbors were going to give us grief!!

I know this won't make you any more sympathetic, but this is not snow. You know: that soft, fluffy fun stuff you've been getting? It's ice, sleet, hard and nasty. (Okay- stop laughing!!! )

If you can catch your breath for a minute, perhaps you would be so kind as to ship us some snow removal equipment. We don't have any. Seriously.

:p ;) :p ;) :p ;) :p

No grief here but I did have a good chuckle. We got 21 inches here last week, but I missed it because I was in the caribbean :sunny:

And that is alot of your problems down there...the ice. Trust me, if we had ice like that here they'd be closing things too because it's even too dangerous for the good road equipment we have to get out there.....

But...you poor things!!!!! ROFL You have as much as I have in my yard right now!!!!! I'm sorry, I know it's not funny but it is....I'm sorry!

I would die in New England......I admit that freely, I'd never make it through one winter. :o

I want my Texas sunshine back!!!!!!! :p :p :p

I've been back to Montana once in the winter since I left home, it was 23 yrs ago. It's a great place to escape the heat of the summer but I think I'll keep the Texas winters :)

I hate this weather and I live in TX! I have been stuck at home for close to 2 almost 3 days and finally escaped to the libray(which was almost empty)

I lived in MA until I was 30. Driving in the winter weather there was easier than driving in the mess we've had here the last two days! They have the equipment to make the roads safe. Also everyone knows how to drive in it!!!!!!!!!!

That O.K. y'all, it has started snowing here in NJ. It's a light snow, but snow none the less!

You can see the grass through the snow...thats baby snow. I do know though even where my BIL lives...outside of Lousville Ky. a little snow or ice and they shut down too:p Same thing they do not have the equiptment or salt to fight it. Hope you guys warm up soon!

Thanks for the pics:D I so love looking at snowy pics:)

It's so hard to imagine what it must be like, but I can dream & enjoy all your pics:p

We'll glady send you some of ours, it's snowing here again in NJ, I have a light covering on my car already.:(

Okay, I'm tired of everyone laughing at us here in Texas. Listen, if we got two inches of snow, no one would be complaining. We'd all be out building snowmen and making snow angels and having snowball fights. That's two inches of SOLID ICE. There is no playing in that crap. I have a concusion now thanks to that stuff and I have a huge bump on my head because we couldn't get our car out of the driveway and we had to walk to the store for TP and diapers since we've all been stuck in the house for two days and I slipped on the ice and fell face first. That stuff is not fun nor is it funny. I would love to have the three feet of snow that y'all have up north compared to this ice.

Anyway, here is my neighborhood...janette, where do you live because it looks like you live pretty close to me.
