A Smile in my Heart–Magical Week of Friends,Fun & Freezing-10/28-COMPLETE!

Hardly another soul was back there with us and I just gushed with joy watching my husband enjoy living in the moment with his kids and hearing my family laugh, giggle, scream with delight, chase eachother, hug eachother, love eachother.

Awww! Love those magical moments! :cloud9:

Hooray for ice cream lunches! :cheer2:

I always think its good to include your "duh" moments in trip reports... even those of us who've been several times make little oops now and then. It reminds us to relax and not take everything so seriously!

Hmmm. One track mind. I'm thinking Michael wanted Test Track! :car:

Kathy

Looks like your visit to England went very well! Both Pooh and Tigger as well as Mary Poppins. I hope your trip into France isn't disrupted by Michael's "one track mind".

Great photopass pictures!! Tigger always seems more into than Pooh when we are there. The kids look like they were having a fantastic time! I hope you got your Grey Goose Slushie, I want one bad!!! :rotfl:
Yeah, what's up with Pooh??? We always get great Tigger's but Winnie is always just too much of an "oh bother" personality. I know he's a relaxed bear and all, but a little bit of excitement would be nice!

Mmmmm....Grey Goose Slushie.....:cloud9:

Another fun update with great pics. I love the one with the kiddos peeking over the hedge. Yay for character meets!
Thanks Mary! :goodvibes That's one of my favorites too!

I seem to have plenty of "duh" moments every trip! There's just so much to remember....:crazy2: I'm really hoping to see Off Kilter on this upcoming trip with Mom. I have YET to see them!! Gasp! :rockband:

Hmmm....not Test Track (although he was anxiously waiting for that too...):rolleyes1

England was great! It was so empty and the kids really had fun back there! 8 year old boys and their "needs"! Ugh....

Sara:

Love your update! :love:Love Emily's comment about Mary Poppins standing on the sewer drain. :rotfl2:Isn't it funny how kids notice everything!

I have yet to have a grey goose slushie. It is on my list for July!

popcorn::Can't wait to read more!

Thanks Erika! Emily is much more perceptive of those kinds of things than the other two! She will probably be the first one of mine to start trying to look for the "person" in the costume through their character eyes or something!

You must try the GGLCS in July - drink it fast though because even in February it melts fast! Then you can go get a 2nd one! :woohoo:

I need to go get caught up on your PTR - how was your spring break in DC???

Sara:

DC was fabulous. The weather was gorgeous and we had so much fun. We ended up staying longer. My intent has been to do a short trip on my pre-trip but I am behind. Jeremy is running me to death at night with all his activities. I cannot imagine how you do it with three children!

That's good to hear! I will look forward to reading about it on your PTR, whenever you get a chance.

This is a very busy time of year, that's for sure....

Lots of :jumping3: and :car: and  and :faint:

Thanks Becky! :goodvibes It's funny what kids see that we don't! I didn't even notice the sewer! :rotfl:

We love the Toy Soldier too! I have plenty of pics of my sons with various weaponry as well! :rotfl:

Oh yeah and Mary Poppins is just such a good character! :thumbsup2 She can reprimand kids but they still like her! She was asking Michael all about if he kept his room tidy and such! The looks she gave him were hilarious!!:rotfl:

Lovely update. I have yet to try the fish and chips, but it's been on my list for the last 4 trips. I think you found the perfect spot to sit and enjoy your meal. Sounds like the UK was a hit with all. Wonderful PP pictures of the family, but I really love the picture of the kids in the hedge. I've never been in there so it will have to go on the list for next time. Loved the comment about Mary choice of location.:lmao:

Glad you got to try the Fish-n-Chips finally! That was on our list for last weekend but it didn't happen. There is always next time!

Funny about the hopscotch board, I have pictures of Sam on it probably right after you guys were there. :goodvibes

The picture of the kids behind the hedge is great! Sounds like a wonderful family time you had!

Hi Sara,
I'm all caught up now :goodvibes. I loved your Epcot updates! I put Run time on the list for Epcot, it sounds really fun. I love the pictures of the kids pointing to the characters on Soarin and your family pics are great too! The pictures of you and your mom are so cute too. Love the carousel one when you were a little kid. I'm sure you and your mom are going to have so much fun when your not at the convention. Also adorable pics of the kids in the toy soldier shop. Waiting for more popcorn::.

The fish and chips were delightful! Wish I had some right now! Delish! Try and get some next time- I love that picture in the maze too! :goodvibes

LOL Michelle! I remember seeing that pic in your TR of Sam and the hopscotch and thought "hey, they were right behind us!" but also :headache: - I'm so sad that we didn't see eachother more on this day! :sad2:

Thanks Nichole! The video game thing was definitely fun - you should try it! Come up with a fun victory dance to do! :dance3:

I'm really looking forward to spending some time at Disney with my Mom! I think I can handle the carousel by myself this time though!

Finally all caught up again!

I like these pictures!! The one with Pooh and Tigger is just cheery and colorful - you look at it and want to smile. :) The one of them hiding is awesome b/c, whenever you look at it, I'm sure you'll remember that moment. :cloud9:

Your plans for your "work" trip sound good! I vote for AK, however, on your first day. I know, I know, you get there and want to head straight for Main Street, but it will be VERY crowded on a Saturday. Unless it's just a weekend trip, we usually avoid MK on Saturdays, if possible. (A LOT of locals from Central FL and really, all of FL) You could still even go to MK for the evening, maybe. :confused3 And, you will have a full day there on your a-good-daughter/employee-never-argues bonus day. ;) For the night you are thinking of Jellyrolls, I say do it! :thumbsup2 We've never been but it sounds like fun and it would certainly be the trip to try it. I would just go with the Boardwalk for the entire evening. Beaches and Cream and Jellyrolls sounds like a fun night to me! Then, if you go to AK on your first day, you could go to DTD for some shopping on the evening you were thinking of going to AK EMH, and then still do Boma for dinner. If you think your mom won't like dinner in Mexico, go online and see what else is available for that night. Your choices are probably limited at this time so that may help you narrow it down. Honestly, we've never eaten at Mexico but I haven't heard great things about it. My favorite is LeCellier, but we all know that's not easy to get. :upsidedow

And, for the record, ice cream and popcorn for lunch!! Major mom points!

Thanks for the awesome suggestions! I really appreciate it. I think I will most likely do the B&C/Jellyrolls combo on that one night- don't want to try and cram too much into the evening and feel rushed. I like your idea of AK first thing too....don't know if I can get Mom on board, but I might see how she feels about it. We would have to come back to the Poly to get the car from the Car Care Center which means we would have to leave AK probably by 4:00, but that wouldn't be a problem at all I don't think. Especially with getting over there around 11:00 or so. I've got to get it all settled soon cuz we leave in 7 days!!!! :scared1:

On a disappointing note....just checked the forecast! Rain, rain, and more rain. Ugh....hopefully it changes.

7 days!!!! :woohoo:

Sorry, I hope I didn't give you MORE to think about - I just tend to get carried away with the whole planning aspect of trips. ;)

Ugh, the forecast will more than likely not change...that's pretty much the FL forecast from now until Nov. But it shouldn't interfere w/ your plans too much; it usually rains everyday sometime between 2pm-5pm. The days that you have class it shouldn't be a problem. And the other days.......well, if you and your mom don't mind raincoats and getting a little wet, it might be a good thing b/c most people try to stay out of it, especially w/ kids, you might be able to take advantage and get on some stuff w/ little to no wait. yes, I am trying to find that silver lining for you. :upsidedow

No worries at all....I appreciate all the suggestions! It's so very strange to be this close to a trip and not really have a whole lot planned out, but without kids and hubby, a lot of the pressure of when/where we do stuff is gone. I know my Mom is not going to throw a fit in the middle of Fantasyland when I tell her we need to wait for a different day to ride Dumbo! :rotfl:

As far as the rain, I can handle a shower or two, but what I'm worried about is the kind of never-ending, day after day, rain showers that Disney folks got last year the week after Shawn and I left from our couples trip. Becky (ladybugmom) had rain every dang day of her trip....that would be a bit exhausting. We could still definitely make the best out of it, but ....it would still be kind of a bummer.

Oh before I forget....

Happy Mother's Day!!!

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

I hope all you moms out there have a great day tomorrow and enjoy yourselves!
