I'm new. To board posting on this site, that is.

I am planning a trip to WDW with my BF at Hallowe'en 2006. I have read alot of the threads (and therefore am able to reduce the number of questions I ask), but there are still some questions that I am not sure about.
If I tried to post the individual questions to each of the themed boards, I think I would go crazy trying to keep up with all the different thread answers, so I'm hoping I wont anger too many people by trying to post them to this theme board all together.

1. Cirque di Soleil... is it running all 2006?
2. What are the park crowds like at Hallowe'en?
3. For the Special Hallowe'en party, is it an extra pay event? How would I go about making reservations for this, or do you?
4. When is 50th Year Celebrations actually going to end?
5. Will the waterparks be open during Hallowe'en? I read that they close for a month during the winter season.
6. Is there a listing somewhere of all the WDW tours that you can take? What about descriptions of the tours?
7. How long is the commute between Orlando airport and WDW?

Thanks so much for those that reply. We are planning to go Oct 27-Nov 3, and sadly, the official website does not list anything past August, currently.

Just trying to plan everything out so I know what I want to aim for! :cool2:

Welcome to the DIS. The commute from the airport takes about a half hour if you are driving. If you are using DME it will take longer.

The parks will be crowded for Halloween. There is always a water park open. They do close one and refurbish it then when it reopens the other one closes.

1. Cirque di Soleil... is it running all 2006?
La Nouba is a "permanent" show -- not a limited engagement. There are no indications that its run will end any time in 2006. However, every year, the performers are given several weeks off for vacation and training. The show goes dark during those weeks.

4. When is 50th Year Celebrations actually going to end?
It is pretty clear, now, that that will be September 30.

5. Will the waterparks be open during Hallowe'en? I read that they close for a month during the winter season.
There is always one of the two open at any one time, AFAIK.

3. For the Special Hallowe'en party, is it an extra pay event? How would I go about making reservations for this, or do you?

Yes, there is an additional cost for the MNSSHP at MK. I believe that it is open only to those staying on-site but I could be wrong. We bought the extra tickets when we checked in to our villa.

Here's an info page all about Cirque, including current ticket prices and scheduled closings for 2006: http://www.allearsnet.com/btp/cirq.htm

2. What are the park crowds like at Hallowe'en?
I've been to WDW during Halloween twice, in 1997 and 2000. Both years, the crowds were very low and wait times for most attractions were under 20 minutes, and many were walk-ons.

3. For the Special Hallowe'en party, is it an extra pay event? How would I go about making reservations for this, or do you?
Mickey's Not So Scary Haloween Party is a hard-ticket event, meaning that it costs extra and is comp0letely seperate from any park admission you might have. It is NOT restricted to on-site Guests only. I don't remember when tickets go on sale each year, but it is months in advance. For info about the 2005 MNSSHP, check out this link: http://allearsnet.com/tp/mk/mnssh.htm

4. When is 50th Year Celebrations actually going to end?
As Bicker said, Sept 30 2005.

5. Will the waterparks be open during Hallowe'en? I read that they close for a month during the winter season.
Probably not; they usually close down one water park at a time for a yearly rehab during the cold months. For the current 2006 closings schedule, click this link: http://allearsnet.com/tp/rehabs.htm

6. Is there a listing somewhere of all the WDW tours that you can take? What about descriptions of the tours?
Right here: http://allearsnet.com/btp/tours.htm

7. How long is the commute between Orlando airport and WDW?
It usually takes me about 30-35 minutes in a rental car, not counting any time I might stop for snacks or lunch on the way. Towncar services or taxi service will be about the same. Mears bus service or Disney's Magical Express will take longer because of stops at multiple hotels.

Thanks so much for those that reply. We are planning to go Oct 27-Nov 3, and sadly, the official website does not list anything past August, currently.
The WDW web site typically only puts up schedules and park hours a few months in advance, because Disney constantly changes park hours, show and parade schedules, based on bookings. To properly plan a trip, you have to make your plans a little loose to compensate for small changes in park hours or parade and show schedules.
