we're getting ready to
banana075.gif
to BLT!

Still holding out hope that a MK view room might open up, have called MS sporadically this week w/o success.

CM asked me yesterday if i had completed on-line check in, i stated no.

He replied I probably shouldn't if i'm hoping to ask if MK view would be available when we check in on Sunday; as they wouldn't be able to switch things around then.

Anybody know if this is True or False?

Sorry I can't answer your question but I have had luck changing from a garden view to a boardwalk view at BWV on day of check in. So I guess if MS was correct I would not do on line check in if you are hoping for a last chance at a room change on check in day.

nice to hear a success story:goodvibes

MS seems to be more on top of things that CRO, wherein it's seemingly possible to get as many different answers to a question depending on how many times you call;)

still wondering if anybody has had any success (recently) re changing category of room within a resort after doing online checkin.popcorn::

This was likely successful because it's the same amount of points. Had you been switched from a standard view to a garden view or boardwalk view, it might have been relevant.

I don't think they can switch you at check-in if you want to move into a different category and would need to pay more points.

the last CM i spoke to said we could upgrade (via paying the extra points) at checkin if available:confused3

he also said BLT now had their own checkin counter vs using CR, which i hope is true...

i have multiple, small denomination disney gift cards from various rewards programs that i want to assign to my account to upgrade GAD ticket, so it's not a big deal to wait in line anyway.

i'll post back my experience when i return:)

I have never heard that BLT had its own check-in area, only that you check-in at the CR.

Yes I have heard this too, from several people. It does seem relatively new. I am not going to do online check in anymore just for this reason. I haven't noticed any faster service whether we do online check in or not.

My belief with online checkin is that they assign your room that morning (if not sooner) and to change is a pain and defeats the purpose. I use it because we tend to arrive REALLY late so I figure it keeps someone from wanting a different room and getting mine. I don't believe they are going to reassign an already checked-in room. That's a lot of work.

I wouldn't do online checkin in your case. But since nothing's come through yet, I would keep from getting up your hopes.

The main purpose to do online check in is to reduce the time spent at the desk. Your paperwork is done, your KTTW cards are printed and everything is ready to go. The only thing you have to wait for is the room to be actually ready for you to occupy.

Since you plan to ask for a change, it would make no sense to do online check in. If there is an MK view room, they have to re-do everything. If there is not, it will take you an extra 5 -10 minutes or so to get it all done.

Good luck!!!

Agree with previous poster, if you are going to ask for any change to your room or need more than "Hi, my name is, may I please have my check-in package", then you should not do online check-in. The whole point is to avoid the whole front desk process, everything is done before you get there.

I have only done online check-in once, and it was for a BCV stay where we didn't have any requests. We arrived at 11pm and they did not have any documents or KTTW cards ready! The search for our "packet" made the process that much longer, and it made me slightly question whether there were KTTW cards out there with our credit card info on them. Needless to say, it made me have no desire to do it again.

If this is true, it's a very recent development. In early September the check-in was still at the Contemporary.

I also can't believe they have more than one computer, so the lines might get longer there.
