I met the Jonas Brothers today!!

Well not so much meet as "admired from behind" but still!!! More on that later, as I present another day in the city.

I was supposed to go to a wedding today but something came up with my date and he was my only way of getting there...needless to say, i'm beyond mad at him considering he is an ex of mine and we were on our way to reconciliation....sort of -- anyway, i won't bore you with anything but I couldn't go. Now another friend that i've been friends with for years (coincidentally I met her through another message board 4 years ago, and we've been friends since ) was coming into the city with her fiance to see a show, and asked me if I wanted to meet her since I haven't seen her since 2006 (the last time I was in nyc before i moved here):

Well at that point I had the wedding, so I told her I couldn't but now that I wasn't going to the wedding, I was more than happy to meet her and say hello!

So we met up and caught up at Bryant Park near times square, and we walked around a bit, going into Toys R Us and Swatch before they went to see the show (country girl i think?) at 2pm. At this point, my idea was to go towards rockafellar center because Nintendo World was hosting a preview of Mario Kart for the Wii! Fun!! Little did I know how BUSY and CRAZY it was going to be but more on that afterwards!!

So I turn around and head back towards 7th ave and I'm walking behind the Mariott Marquis when I see a Limo and a few people (not a mob) around it, im like "people its a limo what is the matter with you?" as I get a little closer I notice paparazzi and im like "oh a celebrity!" and I see some guy and i go, who cares about that guy? I've never seen him before! so i continue walking...and guess who walks in front of me?? thats right, the jonas brothers!!!

It got crazy from there. Basically I'm behind them not really caring all too much because I think its cool to see them, but i'm just not going nuts. So i'm trailing them but not because i want to see them but because they are going the exact path i need to go to get to rockafellar center i am in the direct path of every camera that flashes, the video camera thats recording them -- and i'm thinking jeez i should smile and look like I care, but i'm busy snapping my own pictures..for what? the dis! now folks, this was the best part....every single corner we turned and group we passed, moms daughters, teens children adults shouted "OMG ITS THE JONAS BROTHERS AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!" and the cutest thing is the moms who look at the daughters and they have the brightest smile! so sweet!

Okay so finally they stopped to get into where they were going and they even took a picture with some fans which I thought was nice, but I continued on my way to rockafellar center, calling everyone I knew that would care MeMom, i even thought of calling you

I wont bore you the details of what happened during the rest of the day because by comparison it was pretty dull, but Nintendo World was hectic!! I thought they were just going to hook up the Wii's they have on display with Mario Kart and let people play but no! they had tents outside, a DJ spinning music, a mario kart tournament, it was crazy fun!! I got 2 free t-shirts which was cool and saw Jason Preistly (90210) playing inside the store.

Not sure if anyone has a Wii, but in case you wanted my review on the game it was so much fun!! I can't wait to go home and buy it!

Afterwards I found myself wanting to check out the american girl place after watching John and Kate plus 8 and reading AGPrincess TR. Oh how I wished this was around when I was a little girl. American Girl dolls of course were but not how they are now, I just hope they're still around in 10 or so years so when I have a daughter I can get her one (So i can have one, which is what its really about right moms??)

By this point I was exhausted from all the walking so I walked into WOD for about 5 minutes before leaving because it was mobbed and because I'll be there next week!

Than I took the train to SoHo and walked all the way home because the stop by my place was closed, it took half an hour, my poor poor feet. SoHo to my house would be the equivalent of walking from The Swan or Dolphin, straight around the world showcase, and to the buses at the front of Epcot. Not too bad but who the heck wants to go through that after walking all day?

I'm pooped and ready for bed!

In my day, it was David Cassidy and Donny Osmond. Oh, how I just knew I would be THE ONE for Donny!
But, alas, he never found me.
Hearts were broken when he married.
Oddly enough, I don't find him one bit good looking any more. He doesn't appeal to me at all. Nothing against him, or anything, and I was happy to see that he had a Disney connection with Mulan and all, but it's just hard to believe someone I thought about day and night when I was thirteen is really just not that big of a thing any more.
That's okay. I'm pretty sure he's not losing any sleep over what I think.

I'll have to call Jill right now and tell her you saw the Jonas Brothers. She'll get a kick out of that. I wish she had internet at home.

It opened as I was growing out of them, but it was still so much fun!

DS said "Thats the Jonas Brothers" when I asked him who was in the pic. Good thing I have him around.

Now Jason Priestly I had NO trouble identifying, being a good Canadian girl. Man I drooled over him many nights . Still watch the 90210 reruns occasionally.

I have to say though that the pics that excited us the most were the Mario Kart Wii ones. Neither DS nor I can wait. Thanks Nicole
