A silly question about MS 1-800 number...

I have been calling day by day reserving VWL for our trip next Christmas. Things are going great. I only have 2 more calls to make! Today was the busiest, I got busy signals over and over, and once I got through I was on hold about 5 minutes. I am not complaining but I have a question. If you already know which options to pick, 3 and 3, do you still have to listen to the whole speil? When I call our library here if I go ahead and press a number before the voice is finished listing all the choices it does not connect me and I still have to listen to the whole thing, and then make my selection again. I was just wondering is DVC is like that, or can I go ahead and press the numbers. Anyone know? I was scared to try it, get disconnected, and possibly have to start all over again. TIA.....Lacee

I've hit the 3 as soon as I hear the "spiel", and hit the 3 again as soon as the next spiel starts. I just called again to confirm it and it worked fine.

As far as I know, all the Disney automated phone systems allow you to do this if you know the option number you want without waiting for the spiel.

Whew....that's a lot of "spiels" in one short post!

Thanks Granny. I thought that I could do that like you said, but other systems have not allowed me to do that so I was just wondering. I guess it just depends on how it is set up at the get go. I think I know the MS speil by heart now

I called Member Services this morning & selected 3 before the recording finished & hit it again a moment later. No problems! I understand though that some recordings make you go through the whole recording before you can select an option.

We all have to remember that the first three months of the year are the busiest for Member Services. In addition Mondays are the busiest day of the week.

If the 1-800 number is busy, I just call the pay number 407-566-3800, and I will usually get right through.

Had to do this recently for my Dec 2-7 2005 reservation. Called 10 months and 29 days out - all the standard view studios were already gone.
