Anyone noticed that CA Grill appears to have turned solely into a buffet restaurant? Someone mentioned elsewhere that the app was showing as much, and so does the menu on the Disney website. I'm not sure I like this. . .

There was a thread about this a few days ago, and the favored theory seems to be that it is a glitch of some sort - probably a draft of a holiday event menu that somehow ended up on the main restaurant page. There are misspellings and capitalization errors, prices on a couple of items (one of which is obviously wrong - we haven't seen a <$30 filet at a Disney restaurant this century!) but not on most... It doesn't look like a show-ready product.

I can't see any reasoning to turn into a buffet. I would definitely cancel our reservations if it does.

But actual reports here and Twitter say the menu is still typical and it is not a buffet.

I trust them. Website update is clearly unbaked.

I am so confused by this as I don't know if I'm excited or upset - I have a booking on my next trip taking my in-laws who have never been before and they are really excited hearing mine and my families review on how great it is.

So if it changing to a buffet will it be as good?

Actually I think my two main questions, if it is going to be a buffet, which will decide if I keep or cancel my booking are, firstly how much is it?

I assume pricey, but my rough budget including wine for my last few trips has been around $80 per head (I'm not on the dining plan)

Secondly the food, is it just as good, better (fingers Crossed) or worse!

As I love the view, but , I think I read it somewhere on the boards, I can eat at another location in the contemporary and still go up to the viewing area (or did I just make that up, as wishful thinking lol) so maybe I could change were I eat.

I've seen a couple of articles that it is changing to buffet on Facebook. We have never eaten there but it was on our list to eventually do so. If it turns buffet off it goes, I don't like eating at buffets since I'm not a big eater and never get my money's worth and if I'm eating out, I want someone to wait on me, I can wait on myself at home.

The DIS has posted buffet info and a photo. http://www.wdwinfo.com/news-stories...menu-has-been-changed-to-a-buffet-style-meal/

JMO- I didn't see this coming. Honestly, it sort of sounds like an april fools joke.

That photo is of the sushi bar, which has always been "show" style. And the whole article is just speculation about the online menu change.

Honestly, this is just such a bad idea on its face and the menu as published is so implausible (upcharge for strawberry salad but not for lobster?) that I won't believe it until we see either an official announcement or just-back reports confirming the change.

I was just passing along the link....Maybe it's a change, or maybe Disney's IT folks were bored. :D

It's a glitch. It was confirmed by Disney that this is the NYE menu or some special menu.

It was confirmed by Disney that it is an error. They did NOT say that it is the NYE or other special menu.

actually they did. I'm sure the NYE team would post a non-NYE menu...makes sense.

The article has been taken down. Disney confirmed it was a website glitch.

what a petty thing for you to get hung up on especially when it comes from an inside source.

Maybe they were going to quietly roll it out last night to see what people thought.

They see the response this morning... "A buffet?! I'm never eating there again!" "Oh please no, I'm cancelling if they do this"

... Disney Dining: "QUICK! ROLL IT BACK, NOW!"

But in all seriousness, I think it was a glitch.

The best thing on the menu was 'multifarious cheeses'. I hope they keep that one.

aw the corrected menu is back up. Complete with $73 lobster tail. good times.

Blueberry cheesecake for $14.

I'm think going to cancel with the new menu! I can't afford it anymore. Makes an $80 buffet seem very appealing.
