I was asking my 8yo DD how her school day was. Apparently one of the 2nd grade teacher's sister died and all the 2nd grade teachers were out to go to the service. She said they did various things and sometimes there were parents and others that were with the class. Said they were all alone part of the day  I asked how long and she said oh at least an hour.

I think someones sense of time is a little off. I have full faith that they were probably alone for a short time with an adult close by but I quess the kids thought it was a really long time.

I'm always amazed at the way kids interpret time. If they're practicing, cleaning or some other "horrible chore" then 15 min is "a couple hours!" ;)

It works the same for us "grown" people sometimes too though, like every time I was going to check in here on the DIS for just a "couple of minutes." ;) ;) ;)
