A scare at our house last night (Sunday); update

Hi everyone,
Al had an severe allergic reaction to bees/wasps last night. He went out to empty the something into the composter and went into shock after being bit several times. We had to call 911 as Al was fading in and out and was foaming at the mouth. Luckily our neighbour (fireman) was home and was on duty and got the call and came running over.When the fire/ambulance arrived they put him on oxygen to stabilize and then his blood pressure plummeted. They had to give him an adrenaline needle to bring him back. I stayed with him at the emerg. last night till 1:00 in hopes he would come home but he was still having reactions. He is still there this morning.
I will keep you all informed.
DD Chloe is fine. She stayed at the neighbours last night and has day camp this week so she will be kept busy.

I am glad he is ok. Those bugs can really do a number on somebody! DH carries his Epi-Pen, too. He had a bad reaction to bee and wasp stings.

Karen, how awful for poor Al! Tell him I'll keep him in my prayers. Glad to hear he's recovering from his stings. Is this the first time he had an allergic reaction to them? Looks like you're the new garbage man at your house. Boy, those men will do anything to get out of a few chores

Al came home this am and has now got drugs and an epi pen.
Never had this happen before. Last time he had a bee/wasp sting was when he was 8 and nothing happened.

Apparently he went blue at one point (neighbour told me) and it was close. I am still pumped (I've only slept 2 hours) and probably won't be sane till later on.

and thanks for those hugs, I can sure use them.

I was talking to my fireman neighbour and he was telling me how close we came to losing Al. Just before the fire truck came Al was starting to go blue. Luckily the neighbour had called in to the truck and told them what to bring in with them (oxygen)

He is still having flair ups. Apparenly it takes 3-4 days for it to get the poisin out. The doctor said thay could only find 3 bites.
After having some well needed sleep I am now realizing how close I came to losing him...........................

Wow! What a scare! I'm so glad he's on his road to recovery. I will keep your family in my prayers. I can't imagine what you went through watching everything that happened and then finding out how close this was. Keep you chin up!

I am sorry to hear this,, I have tears in my eyes because al is a wonderful person ,, taking the girls all over the park and for this to happen is just awlful,, I feel so bad for you and chleo too, you guys were just wonderfull too,, If I had your number ,, I'd be on the phone right now,, Give him a big hug from annie and I .. Wow, Karen, I just saw this. What a scare that must have been for both of you! I'm so glad to hear that Al is doing better now. Hope those bees/wasps are gone!

OMG I am so glad he is ok....what a frieghtening thing to have happen...Bee Stings are so very dangerous.
