But why would I want to try a "Cars" virtual online game when they can just say "Oh, that was a promotion for Cars 2. We are shutting that down."

I get the feeling more and more that their best games will be shortlived promotions. Carsland at DLR will be opening around 2011 so they want to get people interested in that; Disney is heavily promoting Fairies right now, another tie in. . . I think diseny realized VMK did what they wanted it to quite well so now they have another formula to push a product.

Though I would agree with your sentiment, I would urge everyone to keep Diane Disney Miller out of this - she's a wonderful lady who has nothing to do with VMK or any other company issue. She is deeply involved in her father’s legacy with the family museum in California and other worthy events.

I would recommend that we keep those who really matter the focus of our requests. Keep alerting the Disney Corporate brass with your concerns - that's our only hope to change what is an increasingly becoming a final decision.

I couldn't agree more to focus on the people who make the decisions.

As miserable as I am right now, even I had to bust out laughing at that, Diznygrl! Thank you for sharing some smiles with us.

As for earlier posts, I know very well that Diane isn't involved in the decision making process of any of this stuff. I was just thinking along the lines of how the folks trying to save the original Small World ride in DL contacted Mary Blair's family, and they eventually recently began publicly supporting the fans' efforts by releasing their own statement on the matter. It is not the same thing I realize, but it was just a thought, and I certainly agree the main focus must be on the honchos.

well god knows what happens/ where it goes when you respond, but i did anyway, just letting them know that we will be focusing our attention on snail mail rather than email since it's a lot easier to delete an email, but it's hard to deny piles and piles of letters requesting some sort of response, or trying to get attention.

I am tired of being nice, sometimes nice guys finish last. if VMK closes, I will absolutely hate Disney for a long time. One thing is for sure, I am sick of this companys greed. They dont care about consumers its all about money. I am so disgusted with Disney Online over this.

A game where you are a virtual car based on the Pixar bomb from a few years ago doesnt sound promising nor does a girly fairy game. That's the future? Sounds so bleh. I'll never join anymore Disney games because you cant be sure if they bomb they will just shut it down one day. At least VMK is so broad you can add Cars to VMK and add Fairies but a game based on such specific topics? Sounds horrible, typical Disney greed.

I can't wait for the Harry Potter online game. Sorry Disney Online you just went downhill with me. If you close VMK I wont be supporting Disney anymore. I am truly disgusted with their greed.

I agree. The thing is, by creating all these promotional games that will tie in to only one thing, they will be ultimately losing money.

They can still promote everything by using VMK in the right way. And they wouldn't have to spend all the time and money creating all these little, short lived games.
VMK has the built in ability to promote anything that Disney does.
