In this day of decreased quality control/customer service, I cannot remember having a smoother, more reliable and cost effective experience than this one.:flower1:

I ordered 4 PHP tickets + 4 $25 Target gift cards -- they all arrived within a week and the PHPs were the least $$ of any I'd seen.

Also ordered 10 movie tickets @ $4.50 apiece a few days ago, and they have already shipped and should be here shortly.

On top of that, just checked my credit card on-line and my $20 credit for the Target gift cards has posted. I joined 27 days ago, so it is possible to get your $5/gc credit within the 30-day period.

I really love this club! I know so many want to cancel within the free month, but the club costs less than a trip to McDonald's. I order a few of something most every week, it seems. To have GC for Blockbuster, or Target, places we'd be going anyway, takes 20% off the top immediately. I've been combining Circuit City cards and Land's End cards with after Christmas sales. Between the 2 I got an XM Radio which was $130 for $80. I LOVE Hotwire.

Do you mind if I ask how much the PHP were?
Are they the new Magic Your Way tickets?

No problem at all, when I was shopping around I was always asking others to post what they paid. I bought the old tickets, the Park Hoppers, not the MYW tickets. Have seen conflicting posts about whether of not they are still going to be available from Hotwire.

Please keep in mind that these prices INCLUDE TAX (while Disney's don't)
2 Adult 4-Day Park Hopper+ @ $208.96 each
2 Child 4-Day Park Hopper+ @ $167.75 each

No charge for shipping either.:flower1:

MY3KIDS - where did you get the Land's End cards? I didn't think Hotwiresavingsclub had those.

I have always had a great experience with Hotwire. They even came through with a problem that I had (was not their fault). I lost CC/debit card, and forgot to change info with Hotwire. Well when they went to charge the monthly it was declined and they cancelled my membership, thereby causing me to not receive the $150 credit I was due.

Well, after making 1 phone call and speaking with someone they told me they would send the matter over to customer service. Well, the next month I received the credit on the old lost CC/debit card (much to my surprise).

I did have to rejoin under different phone number & cc.

lomerillin, I feel bad about your situation, but see if you can return the PHP's and maybe they will credit you. I hope it works out for you.

Hotwire was great for me too. Only problem I had was at the movie theater. I gave my DH the tickets and he went to the cashier. She charged extra $$ even though we had the tickets. I didn't find this out until I looked at the reciept when we got home. I know there are stipulations about special showings and using them during the first 10 days that a movie runs, but we didn't fall into any of those categories. The tickets should have allowed us to enter free. I don't think all movie theater employees (and HUSBANDS!) know exactly how to ring up these pre-paid tickets. So be careful.

NYC theatres have a surcharge of $1.50 (?). Don't know if this applies anywhere else, but I see you are NJ which may be in the NY metro area.

Have had no problems w Hotwire. Purchased PHP's a few days before Jan. plus many cards for xmas. Everything arrived DSL w/in a week. Have to check for my rebates yet. Any company can present a problem, but if anyone is not comfortable, quit. Wish they still had meal vouchers, bought some but should have bought more. Oh, well, I need to lose weight!!

UPDATE: A few days after I started this post, my 10 movie tickets arrived. They have NO expiration date, which is fabulous!! Oh, and my $10 check for placing my first order arrived as well. So, PHPs + Target gc + movie tickets + $20 credit +$10 check.

crazymomof4, I do recall something about an additional movie charge on the website (it's right there when you add the tickets to your cart/place your order), but don't recall what it said because it didn't apply to us. Think it might have been for a different movie chain than the one we use or may have been for a different geography.

And, sorry, lomillerin, for the problems you are experiencing.

Yep, Land's End is now one of the cards you can order under "Shopping." I love Land's End, and have ordered cards just to have on hand for those great Saturday morning Ticker sales. You can also use them at Sears if you needed to buy something there, like a refrigerator or something! :D

the tickets came and are MYW-4 day hoppers-but expire within 14 days of use-not even what I ordered. I am sending them back certified mail as per cc directions. I have no idea what will happen.

Can you really use the Lands End GC's at Sears? I may change my mind about ordering them.

Also - check around Hotwire. I had an option for a free magazine subscription and one of the magazines offered was Disney.

This is what the website says:

"The Lands' End gift card is redeemable for merchandise and services in Lands' End consumer catalogs, including Home, Women, Men and Kids, at landsend.com, Lands' End stores or at participating Sears, Roebuck and Co. store locations in the United States and Puerto Rico. To receive a catalog, call the Lands' End toll-free number. From the US or Canada: 1-800-356-4444. International call: 1-608-935-6170.

Cards cannot be redeemed for cash or applied to your Sears credit accounts, except where required by law. Not redeemable for corporate logo'd apparel. Lost, stolen or damaged gift cards may be cancelled and replaced with required proof of purchase or customer information. Lands' End gift cards have no usage fees or expiration dates and have a declining balance. For automated balance inquiry, call 1-888-816-7040"

I'll be using them if I had to buy a major appliance!

If anyone uses them at Sears for items other than Lands End please post. I like Lands End but if I can use them for other items as well it will be well worth getting them.

I decided to e-mail Lands End and ask them. I'll post what they say when I hear from them.

I returned a chair I ordered from Land's End to a Sears store. I was expecting a hassle since they don't sell the furniture but the cost to return it via mail was so high I was willing to argue. Low and behold, as much as I hate Sears, it was painless! I got a Land's End receipt for the return and the money was back on my credit card with a day or two.

Please let us know what Sears says. Sears owns Land's End now, so I suspect you could use the card on anything, not just LE merchandise in the store.

It's just the wording that has me concerned that they would only accept it on LE merchandise.

"You can use the plastic Gift Card to purchase Lands' End merchandise online at landsend.com, from any of our consumer catalogs and in Lands' End and Sears® stores. The E-Gift Card is redeemable when shopping at landsend.com, from our consumer catalogs and in Lands' End stores (please present a printed version)."

starwood: I just emailed Sears' to ak the question also. Let's compare notes when we get our responses. :D

Yes, I carefully read the "fine print" and none of it applied to us-- we're in South Jersey, 3 hrs from NY and the movie was past 10 days showing and it wasn't a special engagement. I think maybe this theater employee was told about these x-tra charges and wasn't listening closely to WHEN to apply the charge and when NOT to. It wouldn't be the first time that the consumer had a better understanding than the employee of the establishment.
That is why I posted the warning to be careful of this. It's hard to take when you go to great lengths to try to save a few dollars only to have someone make a mistake and it results in you saving next to nothing!
