Just a quick question, are smart trousers (pants) okay to wear at a funeral, as its really cold here. I've never worn any before at a funeral so don't know if its acceptable, and haven't been to a funeral for many years. I forgot to mention that they are black.

I only wear slacks, so always wear nice pants, sweater or blouse to Funerals

Yes, slacks are fine. I live in Michigan--if anyone dies in the winter, I attend the funeral in pants.

The clothes that you wear are not that important. Being there for the family is what really matters.

While I always tend to "dress up" and wear something black or grey (at least the skirt or pants), I've been to several funerals lately & the majority of people go casual. And I mean casual. My SIL showed up late for her own step-mother's funeral in a pink sweat suit with an unlit cigarette dangling from her mouth as she went through the line. :confused3 I've seen many people wear jeans, and most were not wearing a dark color at all. So your black pants will be FINE!

Funerals here have become a little more casual, not jeans and flip flops but not as formal as they once were. Slacks are fine, I think.

Sure, of course. You'll see people dressed in all manners of dress. Slacks are perfectly acceptable.

I'm sorry for your loss.
