my girlfriend purchase her timeshare through another company(can't remember name) with her home "station" being Williamsburg, VA. This company is a member of Interval International. My question is, can she exchange one of her weeks for a DVC resort? I don't understand how all this works. She just made a comment to me that she couldn't find the Disney resorts listed in the timeshare "book". Thanks!

Interval International does list DVC properties. The problem is you can only get one if a dvc member is exchanging their week. It is a true rarily & I myself have tried many times . The people at interval just giggle when I ask for any DVC property.
I can say, however, that there are a lot of timeshares that are easily traded for just off property. Other than that, you can always try to trade directly with a DVC member for their points.

Actually, that scenario is exatly why we purchased at DVC. We looked into the tour and then realizes we knew NOTHING about timeshares in general. We took a couple of other tours of other timeshares in our area, and decided it made no sense to buy at them if our intent was to go to WDW. That is why we "bit the bullet" and purchased here!

I'd recommend you join TUG (Timeshare Users Group) at www.tug2.net where you can get a lot of info. If the timeshare is truly with II and not RCI, a trade to DVC is possible but unlikely. If Disney is not located in the book, I wonder if it's RCI instead.
