I am in the process of moving data from my current PC to a new one. Over the years, over several PC's, I have wound up with a lot of duplicate picture files in various folders, on both my C drive as well as my external backup. And the backup is not current. Well, actually, I have files on the external that are not on my PC and the reverse also, on my PC but not on my external. :surfweb: :rolleyes1

I am hoping to take files from my external and my PC (again, both have various duplicates) and copy to my new PC. Then wipe my external and make a good, clean, up-to-date backup on my external. And then, maintain parity between the two, PC and external backup.

I do have PSE 5, if that is of any help. So, again, trying to copy all unique files from a PC and an external, both of which have unique and duplicate files on them, to a new PC.

Experts, your thoughts???? :coffee:

Photos are just files like any others on your PC... I'd grab a basic duplicate finder program, there are a zillion of them out there, most of them free. There's at least three on this page. No need to look for something photo-specific.
