okay. I would like if we could do this with a little more maturity than was showcased on the CB earlier today ;)

I made this thread instead of hijacking the lance thread.

Basically my question is what is your stance on anything involving GBLT rights?

Personally, about half of my friends are GBL. And usually I knew before they did. I've played counselor to a lot of these people because sometimes I am the only one that knows. I know several of them feel like they would lose every friend they had if everyone knew. And its hard to go through every day without anyone actually knowing you.

People say its a choice, well its not. why would anyone choose to do that to themselves?

Its acutally caused by how your body responds to pheramones. if you respond to the same sex pharamones while also responding to the pheramones of the opposite sex that causes you to be attracted to people of both sexes causing you to be bisexual. et cetera.

I believe gay marriage should be legal. No one has any right to tell me who I am allowed to be attracted to and who I am not allowed to be attracted to. let alone if I could marry them or not.

I know that not everyone agrees with me, and not everyone ever will. "you can please all of the people some of the time, some of the people all the time, but you can't please all of the people all the time"

Also, be honest. I'd respect you a whole lot more if you flat out told me you disagreed with what I think than if you didn't.

just realized this is the teen thread. sorry kinda late for this old lady.

But since I already posted once. I will just say that we are all created equal and should be treated as such.....

I welcome all opinions. a lot of posters end up here, and we're (usually. ;) ) nice. we don't bite too hard around here.

Being involved in theatre and colorguard, most of my guy friends are gay.

and I have absolutel no problem with it. I even played matchmaker for two of my guy friends! :)

But yeah. I do believe everyone should be treated equally, no matter if you prefer males or females. That should not matter at all. I hate it when my friends get made fun of, as it makes them feel horrible.

a little side note: my friends tell me i have the 'Midas Touch' because every guy I become friends with and/or start to like is gay. I'm attracted to gay men, it's kinda sad. haha. it's a curse. :) but I love them anyway.

I also have the midas touch. I can't wait until my 10th highschool renunion. Every guy in that room will be gay. :rotfl:

yep i agree with you all the way i think people should be treated the same even if they diffrent but arn't we all diffrent

I don't know anybody personally who is gay. Either where I'm from people are just all straight or they just won't come out of the closet. And I'm thinking the second. People I know over here are vicious about that, and would tear you apart for it.

But I don't care who someone is attracted to, because that's not everything about them. There is so much more.
I am for GLBT rights, they should be allowed to marry. If they truly love someone, how is that a sin? God would want that person to have someone who cares about them, same sex or not.

Another thing I might note:
Not every guy who likes fashion, talks girly, wears tight clothes, etc. is gay. It's just who they are.

I don't like to call people gay, just because I've never used it in the context that someone is gay. I might say 'that is so gay' talking about something that looks so stupid, but I'm not referring to it as the object is actually gay. Gay men to me are either homosexuals or something else.

I'm not really directing this towards you, but "thats gay" and "thats ********" are two things I'll never use to discribe something. Its sad that we live in a time where women have rights, and all the races have rights, but sexual slurs are acceptable as a form of calling something stupid. and don't even get me started on "thats ********" thats just wrong. I know I am one of few who feel this way, but I guess thats just who I am. :confused3

I know people feel this way, usually I try to start away from saying that things are gay, it never happens. It just happens when everyone around you says stuff like that.

I find it really, really sad when people insult people by calling them gay or a lesbian. They're making fun of someone by calling them something they're not, which is like telling everyone "Being this way is wrong, it's disgusting" when all it is is love & human nature.

I'm all for GLBT rights. they should be allowed to marry.
If they're in love with someone of the same sex, why stop that relationship from going forward?

I'm completely for gay rights. The way I feel is that we have no say in how we are created, it's just how we are. It's how we respond to people and situatioins that make us who we are. It just hurts to think about all the people in this world who could've been/could be truly happy, byt weren't/aren't because some people can't accept them, based on how they are.

Yes, me too (but with theater, not colorguard :) ) I totally accept gay rights. You shouldn't have to hold back who you are inside just to please people, or to be "right". Marry who you want to marry! And that's all that matters in gay relationships. Love. I have this friend who I do theater with, Brian. He's a sweetheart, but scared all of us for about 2 years with drinking and constant bad moods. People were afraid of what would happen if we talked to him. Well, he eventually came out, and I haven't seen him so happy in a long, long time. He's always smiling, and better yet, he's got a new boyfriend. They're so in love, it's really neat. I'm very happy for them. And yeah, a lot of my theater guy friends are gay, and some of the counselors that work with me at my theater camp are too. I respect them all. So yeah, I'm all for gay rights. Life's all about being happy, and doing what makes you feel right. :thumbsup2
