ok, I see where you can upgrade your child to adult on the dine plans, during free dining... Can you guys give me an idea how much it would cost, NOT during free dining.. Staying 8 nights, quick service. She is 9, and will for sure get tired of the kids menus...

Plus how hard is this gonna be on the MDE, to change up... Last time we went to Disney, was in 2010.. So all this is new to us...

It's not worth it. Don't do it.

The child's dining plan is ~$20/night, while the adult's is ~$60/night. You'll have to pay the adult price, so about $40 per night. You could probably buy her a few extra meals for that price.

During "free" dining, the only extra charge is the price difference between child and adult park tickets, so $20-$30 total for the trip.

You would pay the difference in the cost between the child's plan and the adult's plan PLUS the difference in cost between the child's ticket and the adult's ticket (if you are on a package with tickets.) This is why it's mostly done during free dining, where the only cost to upgrade is the difference between the tickets.

Looks like you're talking about the difference in price of child/adult of the QSDP. That would be about $25/night plus the cost of adult ticket over child ticket. Perhaps this is the year you decide to just pay OOP and not do any dining plan.
