A question for those who use routers for the internet

I have a computer question that I need some help with. I have a linksys router that I used in the past to split my cable modem on a computer that no longer exsists. I now want to use this router for DSL on two new computers. If I'm correct, I can't use this until I change the MAC address, correct? How do I go about doing this? I know I have to hook a cable from the computer to the router, but do I need to hook the router up to the DSL modem when I change the MAC addy? I sure would love some help. Thanks.

So none of the computers you used to use will be on the new network?

I think setting up your home network (the MAC Address part) is really a separate exercise from your internet connection. If I remember right, you won't need to include your modem when simply setting that up. So you'd install the linksys software on the new computer and go through the set up of the router all over again. You may need to reset the router to "original settings" before starting, but it's likely it will "notice" that you don't have the original MAC address included any longer.

Sorry, it's a hardwired router (non wireless). I tried going through the process of setting up the router on the new computer last night and it wouldn't work. When it did the internet check it said that I didn't have internet connected (after following the instructions)...but the internet worked when I plugged the computer straight to the modem. I don't know.
