A question for those going to WDW for Christmas.....

We will be arriving in WDW late on January 2. I'm trying to figure out how busy the parks will be on the 3rd & 4th (the weekend after New Years).

For those of you who are going for Christmas, are you staying right through the New Years weekend, or is that when you are going home? Not that I don't want to see everyone, I just want to avoid crowds at all costs!!! What would be our best park choices for those days? Thanks!!

Sorry to say we will be leaving the evening of the 29th. We probably wouldnt have stayed that long but wanted to be there for my birthday, the 28th.

I would say they will still be very crowded Sat. then drop off a little Sunday then alot on Monday.

We have spent the last 3 yrs. there at this time and the day after Christmas the crowds just build. We try to get everything that we really want to do done before Christmas then just relax after that.

We arrive Christmas Day and are staying through to January 4...

We were at Disney last year on Jan 2-7 and are going again this year Jan 1-6. We found that the parks were fairly crowded but we avoided much of this by just arriving early and making best use of the fastpass system. We found that the crowds dropped off after the Sunday after New Years (Kid's have to go back to school?). We save MGM and MK for last to give the NYE crowds time to go home.

I don't think it's the least crowded time to go but its definitely not the most crowded! Plus we think the perks are...

1) seeing the Christmas Decorations - up till around Jan 5
2) it's value season!
3) no hot Florida sun to bake in!

For us, it's a great time to visit WDW!
