O.K., i'm putting it all out there. When I was younger, I was very flat chested. Then after two children, I was not, they were just there. So after working out for almost 6 months straight, losing 16 pounds and many inches, and strength training 3 times a week, I have noticed that my chest area is getting smaller. Has anyone had this happen? I've lost weight in all areas, butt, arms, legs, belly but never imagined the chest area.
I think it's pretty common - in fact I have heard many women say they lose in that area first. Personally I would like to lose MORE there
but 6 inches is a nice start. 

Oh well, I'll take having to use a padded bra over having well-padded thighs!
