We are going to be spending the friday after thanksgiving in Chicago for one night as we leave early in the morning on a flight from Midway airport. We want to stay at a nearby hotel that isnt too expensive, all we need is a place that is safe for our car and has a pool for the kids, any ideas????
Also how long should it take us to park our car in the parking lot/long term parking and then catch a shuttle to get to the airport. We are going on Southwest so we want to be there early enough to check in and get seats where we are together, so how early should we be at the airport??
And thanks in advance for the help!!!

Bob, I will let a few other real sharp Chicago hotel folks give you some ideas (they know them better than me), and I have not flown out of Midway in years, so do not know the time frames. I do find this funny though, you are coming here on Friday to fly out of Midway on Saturday, and I am going to Milwaukee Friday, to fly out of Mitchell on Saturday. LOL. What's up with that?? :teeth:

Dan it is funny!!! We were able to get alot better deal on SouthWest to CA than from Mitchell. There is little competition at Mitchell going to LA with few direct flights so we found the best deal with Southwest. We have never done this before so it should be interesting!!!! I hope the parking lots are well protected!!

Bumping up for more info!!!

Sorry I can't help you Bob but PM Doctor P - he might have some ideas and might be able to help you. I have only flown out of Midway once and drove there one other time. He's flown out of there several times and knows the area pretty well.

I fly into midway and stay at the holliday mart plazza, its a 20 dollar cab ride, rooms are as little expensive but you could get good deals on them

I was going to suggest a place we stayed near Midway this summer but, when you mentioned a pool and, I assume you mean INDOORS, it blew that idea! :p

I will tell you I got the room through Priceline with NancyIL's fabulous help! :smooth:

yes, we need a indoor pool, it helps tire out the kids and they behave better!! They will probably be excited and wont sleep if not tired.

The Courtyard is a good choice. The whole area South of Midway on Cicero Ave. is very industrial and not that pretty.
Where the Courtyard is was built in the last 5-10 years and everything is pretty new and nice. Have a great time.

We checked the web site and the Courtyard seems very good!!

One last bump up for more possible options!!
