I was thinking about something the other day (I know, dangerous).

On my annual trips to Ft. Wilderness, I generally have friends with me that I'm more than happy to share a campsite with, as everyone has their own tent, however, it would not be appropriate to share a hotel room with them.

For our upcoming trip next week, if we were to be evacuated to a regular Disney resort due to weather/possible hurricane, (nothing on the horizon, just wondering) we would need three hotel rooms due to the mix of the adults going. (We could get by with a two-bedroom villa at a DVC)

Would they accomodate us??

When we were at FW they notified us that we would be evacuating because of approaching storm and we would be sent to PO. We decided to head home instead.

Have not heard of "campsite" occupants going to DVC Resorts but that's not to say it hasn't happened.

A buddy of mine and his family/friends were at FW during a Hurricane Evacuation (Wilma I think-2005).

They were evacuated to All Star-Sports and were given 3 rooms. He said it happened quickly and they had no problem getting what they needed.

He was very complimentary of how Disney took care of his famly. Also, he had trip insurance so the extra 3 days at WDW were paid for.

Regards,

Kewl!! That's what I needed. I would hate to have to head home early, because of them asking us to share a hotel room.

I had a concern about the hurricane(s) too. I've been tracking Karen and tonight she was downgraded again, she's no longer a Tropical Depression but I'm not ruling her out from regenerating. Melissa is now brewing and I'll be tracking her through next week. We're headed down Friday night so after that I'll be depending on Pixie Dust and Disney Magic to take care of us :)

It does seem that when the Fort is evacuated that the All Star is normally the resort that is chosen. Although of course, it all depends on occupancy, but I've heard of the All Star being the main choice most of the time.

We were at the fort for Charlie I think. we were in the cabins at the time and we were evacuated to port orleans riverside. There were lots of campers there as well.Kind of a funny story is that we booked when we knew it was coming. We decided that with thier own power, underground power lines, and proximity to the ocean, that Disney was safer than our own house on Anastasia ISLAND:scared1: :rotfl2: in St. Augustine. We made sure that if it hit we would be put somewhere safe and off we went. My Dad still calls when a storm gets close to see if we are heading to Disney:lmao: . For those that aren't aware of the path that Charlie took, We actually " Escaped " to an area closer to where it hit and pretty much diectly in the path instaed of staying home for a glacing blow:rolleyes1 .
