We are in the 2009 UY, but I'm going to need more points for a 2010 vacation and even with borrowing I won't have enough to book all I want at 11 months. Can someone transfer 2010 points when they are in the 2009 UY? I would want home resort advantage.

I am so torn between adding on or trying for a transfer. There is at least one resale that "fills the bill" but I'm not sure that this will be an every other year deficit.

As you are in your 2009 UY, you can receive a transfer of 2009 or 2010 points from someone in their 2008 or 2009 UY. You cannot receive 2008 points.

Depending on when in 2010 you plan to travel, you may need to bank the points from a 2009 UY. For example, if you receive Aug 2009 UY points, you will need to bank them for a trip in Sept 2010.

You cannot borrow transferred points. So, if you receive 2010 points, make sure that they can be used for the trip you intend to take. For example, If your receive Aug 2010 UY points, you cannot use them for a trip that is any earlier than August 1, 2010.

Best of luck -- Suzanne

Yes, I have done this many times . . . if what you are asking is: Can you have a member transfer points into your next use year? As mentioned earlier, you cannot borrow transferred points, but you can bank them.
