OK I have all of my ADRS booked.. But I am reading soo much about shring on the DP...

I was going to rethink some of my ADRS and add a few more if my DH are allowed to share and then I can have the kids share a meal which makes sense since I would never eat all of the food and the kids could never eat a whole meal alone...

Is it ok to assume that a restr... is going to let us share a meal...??? ANd then I will have more credits and can make a few more ADRS????

Have others of you done this with sucess???

WE would like to try out the Hollywood and Vine at MGM.............

I think you will be fine. We are using half of our alotment of TS credits on HDDR so will likely try to share somewhere to stretch into one more TS meal to use at lunchtime. We shouldn't get any looks since all on adult plan. However, with young kids, I wouldn't try to stretch it more than one extra sitdown. People are reporting their kids wanted to be out there doing stuff, not sitting in restaurants. Sitdown meals are time consuming and you may have a lot of leftover CS credits if share credits in such a way as to have 2 sitdowns a day.

We shared 4 meals total when we went Aug. 26-Sept. 3 and we were allowed to with no questions asked at all 4 places (WCC, Planet Hollywood, 50's PTC and Spoodles).

We got "attitude" from our snooty server about sharing at Spoodles, but were still allowed to do it.

For us it worked well since we ate a TS on our arrival & departure dates and used double credits at Spirit of Aloha as well.

Just remember though, you cannot share at H & V since it's a buffet.

As mom mentioned, you may encounter suspicion. Just be prepared for it so you're not disappointed if you face it.

I too am wondering about sharing.............my husband and I are going next week and I'm trying to make the best of the DDP. I would like to try more places and share for variety. I understand that you can't get away with it at Buffet places..........

so you were allowed to use 1 TS credit for 2 adults at Whispering Canyon Cafe??? Did you get the skillet or just order an entree???

Every guest has to pay at buffets, dinner shows/packages and restaurants that serve "all you care to eat".

Isn't Hollywood and Vine a buffet?

Well as my name says we just got back. DW, DD(4) and I shared mostly counter services with no recourse. We even did the unthinkable to strecth our free DDP and paid OOP for our daughter at every TS, except HDDR and CRT. Our other TS were Wolgang Pucks, Coral Reef, and Chef Mickeys(the only way we paid OOP here was that I knowingly scheduled it to be our last TS when we only has two TS left on the card). Now before the flamethrowers come out...I am just reporting that it can be done and none of our servers looked at us cross for one second. In fact , our server at Woflgang Pucks said it was the smartest way to use DDP. As I said in the beginnig we shared mostly on CS. We would use a snack credit for a bowl of fruit or other snacky item and DD would eat that and share whatever we had until she was full. No one ever said a word. So if you have any questions about anything please feel free to ask away.

So you did not get into "trouble" for sharing at TS???????

I can't imagine they would let you share the all you can eat skillet at WCC. Maybe they ordered off the menu. :)

We shared some meals on our last trip, but that was a year ago. We didn't have any trouble anywhere, we shared at Marrakesh, 50's PTC, or San Angel Inn. It was DH and I sharing an adult meal, and our two boys sharing a kids meal.

We were at Whispering Canyon Cafe a week and a half ago. The family of three next to us were trying to order a skillet dinner for two. The server made it very clear they would not all three be able to share the skillet and pay for two (not sure if they were on the dining plan). However, they were more than welcome to order to two entrees and the three of them could share. As I recall, they ended up ordering the two entrees and sharing.

We didn't get the skillet. We ordered off the menu.

There were 4 of us total and we got 2 orders of nachos (in fact, we even asked for the chili on the side for one and they brought us a separate bowl of chili). We also shared one steak meal among two of us and one of the chicken pasta meals among two of us (all adults on the plan). We then got 1 worms in dirt (dd10 ate this solo as dh said he was too full for dessert - I know - he's slightly crazy sometimes :rotfl2: ). DD14 and I shared the marshmallow cheesecake, which was so yummy!

So you used child credits for adult meals or am I misunderstanding you?

It sounds like he is saying the credits are pooled, he paid out of pocket, he shared meals... and it wasnt debated by the servers at wdw from what I read of his account!!

thanks "JGBY" I'm tallying our TS places, we're paying oop for all 3 of us for CRT, but I am 1 TS short, and came to see if there were any new reports..

We're doing H&V and 1900 our last 2 days, so I know I want to use the DDP, and thought if I could share a Rose and Crown meal on our first day, it will all work out!! :thumbsup2

(and if my plan confuses anyone, I apologize, it makes perfect sense to me - but I've been told my posts do confuse readers!! )
