A question about last year's BTMR refurb

So I was watching some vlogs from last year of people at Disneyland and they mentioned that they hoped Disney World's BTMR refurb would bring the cool stuff that Disneyland's BTMR had. I did some googling and it seemed like back last year when this refurb was happening people were hoping and even blogs were writing with the assumption that the refurb was bringing the cool effects Disneyland's BTMR had.

Obviously that never happened though. Were people very disappointed about this? It kind of seemed like the assumption was the Disneyland stuff was coming to Disney World's BTMR. What exactly did the refurb do? Did it add anything noticeable to the ride?

I was. I loved the new effects they added at DL's BTTMR! I don't know why they couldn't have done something similar in MK. Overall, I like the look of MK's BTTMR, however DL's has the edge now because of the new effects.

I was disappointed. DLP has the new effects now, too (well, they didn't seem to work as well as DL's for whatever reason, but they do have it).

I'm not sure what all was involved in the refurb, but it sure took a long time....and it certainly didn't end up as cool as the west coast's version.

DLR added the explosion effects when they completely replaced the ride track. If you have ridden both recently, DLR not only has the effects but is also much smoother. Considering how much rougher WDW is I wouldn't think its going to be too long before WDW get a track replacement and the enhanced effects.

FWIW, The DL version is awesome when it works. Over 8-10 rides in the past year we've only had the blast in the tunnel a couple of times....We are more shocked when it happens than when it doesn't...

WDW just got a track replacement within the last five or so years. Maybe even three years. They blur together.

What the refurb did was make me unable to ride it on my last trip. Dang it.
