We just got back from WDW last week. One of favorite spots is EPCOT France. Each time we visit we have a great time sampling the wines, pastries, perfumes and foods.

I have a question about the Impressions de France movie. In the wedding scene, there are a few ladies wearing tall hats or bonnets. It looks like they are made maybe from starched lace, I'm not sure.

Does anyone know why this is? What is the significance of the hats?

It's called La Coiffe Bigouden and is worn by women in that area of Brittany as part of the traditional costume. Apparently it began as a symbol of revolution against the French aristocracy.

We just saw the movie. What a great question! The hats were really striking. Thanks for a great answer too!

Thanks!:thumbsup2 Mystery solved!

And, from what I remember from French classes, you are correct - they are made of starched lace.

I've actually been to the church featured in the Epcot movie. It's a little out of the way but it's absolutely breathtaking.

Put that one on your Europe bucket list.

That's cool :)
It looks like such a pretty little church.

An easier place to find to put on your Europe bucket list is the train station.
DH and I were in a train station in Paris and realized it looked very familiar.
If you are ever in Paris, head to Gare Du Nord to cross another thing off your list.

Does anyone have more detail on the Brittany church? Location, town, church name, etc. Been to all the other sites in movie. Thanks!

After seeing the movie many, many times, I asked what one of the buildings was named - I recognized it from our honeymoon years ago. The CM gave me a list of all the scenes - music and buildings! I scanned the doc into my computer; I attempted to attach the PDF here, as well as copied/pasted the OCR of it below (might be OCR errors). I received this at the film Jan. 2015.

Thank you Amanda999 for the list. We have visited each site except for one: Church in Brittany. Cannot locate actual name/town info.

We have a master map of all the sites, including Corsica, and will forward later. Just couldn't mark the Brittany church location. Thanks!

Where is it? We're heading to France in October. Oops, just noticed the comprehensive list above. Thanks much!
