which resort has the best beds? we stayed POP last week and it was boyfriends first trip. everything was great but he couldn't sleep on the beds. and he hated the pillows. though i did get him to love disney as much as i do. and he did make the comment one day that after staying onsite he nevers wants to stay off site. LOL~ like he ever has. but he really didn't like the beds at POP. for our next trip we will have me, boyfriend, my DS and quite possibly a former employee. she really wants to go back but can't afford to go by herself. i figure she can afford it if she crashes in my room. so i would definitely need three beds. i was thinking POFQ...don't they have a trundle bed DS could sleep on? or a room with two beds and a day bed. who has those? thanks for any insight you might have. it has always just been DS and I and we have always stayed at the value resorts. so looking to move up here.

I believe it's POR that has the trundle beds. Some of the deluxes have 2 queen beds and a day bed. I have found the beds at YC to be pretty comfortable. We've stayed at POR, Pop, WL, and YC and YC and WL tied for best for me....but that's mostly because they are queens instead of doubles.

POR is the resort with the trundle beds. The deluxe resorts have 2 queen beds and a daybed (GF, CR, Poly, BC/YC, BWI). The only 2 deluxes that don't have daybeds are the WL and AKL, but some of the rooms have 1 queen bed and bunk beds. Staying at the WL or AKL will you get you a deluxe resort without the deluxe price tag, as they are quite a bit cheaper than the monorail and Epcot resorts :goodvibes. As far as comfortable beds, we have never had any problem sleeping on the beds at the WL or the Poly...both were very comfortable to us ::yes::.

I've never come across a Disney bed that was uncomfortable. The bed I had at CR last December was really good, as was the last beds I had at BCV and VWL. But really, bed comfort is subjective, because everyone likes their bed a little firmer or a little softer. It's hard to base your decision on someone else's comfort, unless they describe WHY they did or didn't like it.

With a party of only 4, you could possibly get a rollaway at CSR. Or, take an Aerobed for your son.

All the value and moderate resorts have double beds. Which seem very small and uncomfortable to me, especially if you have to share it. In order to get queen beds you'll have to book a deluxe resort. Most of them offer daybeds too, just make sure you request that on your reservation because they don't guarantee them for parties of 4. It's just considered a request.

And remember if you have a 3rd adult, it won't be without cost. I think they charge $15 for the 3rd adult in the room. I'm sure someone here can clarify.

thanks guys! D went last year for her very first time. the person she went with wouldn't ride any of the rides. she got him on ONE ride and the rest of the time they just walked around looking at stuff. she has wanted to go back since she got home. since i quit my job and she is no longer my employee..she can go with me on my next trip!!

the extra cost to the room is no biggie. i am ok with that. i forgot AKL had bunk beds. hmm.. i have always wanted to stay there. maybe i can talk him into that. he chose POP because his theory is "how much time will we really spend at the hotel?" but the beds were really hard. we have a pillow top at home and he just couldn't sleep. and we sleep on a full bed at home. had a queen but that seemed just too big. LOL crazy i know.

We had only one bad experience with mattresses at WDW. We were at AS Sports before the remodel. Our mattresses were horrible, we could not sleep on them.

So - in around 1 AM - we went to Sports' front desk. In less than 15 minutes, two new mattresses arrived in our room. They were wonderful about everything. If your mattress is uncomfortable - say something. Disney is responsive to any and all problems that their guests might have.

By far the best bed on property is at the Walt Disney World Swan. It is called the Heavenly Bed. It is fantastic.

If they participated in airport transportation and the dining plan, I would always stay there just for the beds.

The beds at the POLY are wonderful!!! Heaven there too! I did stay at an Emerald Isle townhouse offsite and the beds were HORRIFIC - hard as rocks!!! The space was great, but I won't stay there again. I'll pay the extra dough to come back to the beds at the poly. GF beds are pretty good too! :)

I know they had beds at POR 'cause I always woke up in one :lmao:

I honestly don't remember anything other than my head hitting the pillow at night and the mousekeeper waking me up in the morning. :) I had a great night sleep there!
