~ A PTR for a CAMPING Trip That Might Never Be ~ *TR Started (link inside)*

Random question: How did you get your links to work on your front page and at the end of your posts? I tried to set mine up...but it only takes me to the page that the post is on, not the actual post. I took the links off the top of each page...but I noticed on your updates in your first post that even when posts occur on the same page they have a different string of numbers at the end. Can you help me?

Thanks!
Jes

Look at the top right corner of each individual post and there is a number (like yours was #180 I believe). Click on that number and it'll bring up that post only. Use that page for your link. Does that help?

I think so!! Thanks!! :thumbsup2

Of coures there's running water at most campgrounds! They have showers, flush toilets and everything!! ;) Sometimes you can even get water at your site.

I feel very lucky to have been to Australia and Alaska. I can't wait to go back to Alaska in July. It is so gorgeous there!! I'll do a mini trip report when I get back. I'm going to be in a friend's wedding (she's asked me to be her maitron of honor and Sully might be the ring bearer if he'll agree to it). I get to buy a dress and everything princess:

Yeah, but don't you have to walk to the bathrooms and showers??? Hmmm...don't know about that ;) .

That's really neat about getting to go back to Alaska this summer for a wedding! About all I know about Alaska comes from Northern Exposure (which I loved when it was on) and the few episodes of that show with Anne Heche (Men in Trees or something). I am sure it is nothing like either one of those! I should find a novel set there -- any suggestions?

Love the camping gear! Looking at it has made me and DH decide to go buy a new tent so that we can take DS "camping" in the back yard. We figure it's a good place to start. :thumbsup2

How's the Josie Ordeal going?

Hope we're doing better on it :grouphug:

She still hasn't returned and at this point, I don't think she will. We're hoping that another family took her in. I don't want to think about the other possibilities.

I will admit that yesterday I went to three places looking for a kitten to adopt. I know we probably shouldn't so soon, but it really isn't a replacement of Josie as much as it's trying to fill the emptiness we feel with her gone. The kids have actually been ok. I think Chuck and I are having a much harder time. Anyway, did you know that cats are seasonal breeders? I had no idea! No kittens to be found. I guess they'll start having litters soon though. I'll keep you posted.

I loved Northern Exposure, although not until I watched it on DVD last year. When it first came out, I was only a teenager (although dating and then marrying my first husband who was 7 years older and who loved NE) and I didn't really "get it." When my friend moved to Alaska, I decided to watch the series and I adored it. Such a great show.

The only novel that I know of based in Alaska is Julie of the Wolves by Jean Craighead George, which you may have read as a kid. I read it fairly recently and loved it. There's a wonderful travelogue by Brian Keenan titled Four Quarters of Light. I really enjoyed that one.

Cool! You'll have to tell us how it goes (with a picture of course :thumbsup2 ). Anyone that has any tenting pictures is more than welcome to share them here. I'd love to see them!

You're really organized with all of your camping stuff. Your boys are going to have so much fun!

I'm going to head over to your weight loss thread!

Going to look at amazon.com for Four Quarters of Light -- that sounds promising. Thanks!!!

I'm so glad you all had a good time there! Isn't it a great mall?! You can actually see a scuba diver in that tank sometimes checking on the fish and they do a daily feeding at 11 a.m. We always have to stop in and visit our fish friends when we go. I try to stay away from that place on the weekends though as it gets pretty insane - especially the movie theater.

It's in my "Saved for Later" section of my amazon cart. That is where I keep my ever expanding wish list of books I want to read. :thumbsup2 The description was certainly enticing.

You do know you can make up a wish list on Amazon, right? Mine is quite full.

Before I go to bed I thought I'd post a picture from Friday night. It didn't get as crazy as it did the last time we went out. ;) I don't have many recent pictures of myself so when I get them, I like to put them out there for you all (and seeing as my TR was lacking in pictures of me, I'm going to try and make up for it. :thumbsup2 ) I should have a new installment tomorrow (although I have no clue what it'll be about yet).

Aww, that's too bad. I do hope you find her. And if not, I'm pretty sure that a nice family took her in :)

Remember, you always have take-along Josie to keep you company :thumbsup2

"I'm there for you babe." You hear her say off in the difference.

Hope is good :)

Sounds great that you might get a new kitten :) A few cute names are...

Eisoj Pronounced: Eee-i-oj

Or

Fabella

Or

Carrisan ;)

Just ideas to somewhat cheer you up :)

Josie loves you <3

Hope and Prayers,

Dani

Thanks sweetie

Josie already had a name when we adopted her so that might be the case again. If not, I'd like to get another female (since I'm the only one in the house!!) and name her Alice after Alice Springs.

Great photo!

I hope Josie comes home soon.

I was in MD this weekend and by some miracle there wasn't much traffic on the Beltway. How did that happen?

Can't wait to read another one of your installments. You're a great writer! popcorn::

The weekends usually aren't too bad on the beltway, unless there's an accident or some major event going on. We had great weather on Saturday!
