Arrival - Day 1 - November 6
I was not looking forward to flying at all. I had flown several times before, but that was before I had kids. I don’t know if I’m just a paranoid lunatic or what, but everything seems to scare me since I had kids. I thought plane rides were fun when I was younger. Now that I have children I have this constant paranoia...what if...???? The kids were all excited about the trip and kept themselves occupied on the flight. I had printed Delswife’s trip report so DSis and I had something to read. Thanks, Delswife...your reports were awesome and made my flight seem so much quicker. I got halfway done with them & saved the rest for the flight home.

We arrived in Sanford about 2:30 pm...right on time. While the rest of the family got our luggage, DH & I got in line to get our rental car (minivan) from Dollar (no problems with their service or the car...great price $245 for the week). Packed up the minivan and off to the POR! When we arrived at POR we checked in and took our luggage to our rooms. Since there were 6 of us we had connecting rooms in Alligator Bayou Building 18. It was very close to the Food Court - great location. The room had not been renovated yet, but I believe the mattresses were new. During our stay they were working on the buildings next to us, so I imagine they’ll be getting to Building 18 soon. The rooms weren’t bad. They do need refurbishing...alot of wear and tear, but they’ll be beautiful after they’re done. We did not have a refrigerator in our room and we did not request one. Since we were so close to the food court, we bought the mugs so we didn’t need a refrigerator.

We ate at the Food Court and then took the ferry to Downtown Disney. It was a nice boat ride and the Treehouse Villas were really neat. I’d love to see the interior. Our CM told us that they’ve been closed for 4 years and Disney has no plans to re-open them. He also told us that he sees engineers coming and going even though no one is supposed to be staying there but he didn‘t know why. I was thrilled at all the shops at Downtown Disney. So much so, that we returned later in the week to shop again and DSis and I had to ship our packages home via UPS because we bought too much stuff. I did alot of Christmas shopping for DD5. Our Disney store back home is small and doesn’t have 1/4 of what the World of Disney and the other shops have. I was amazed.

We went back to the resort and the girls wanted to go swimming so we thought we’d sit at the pool bar & have a few drinks. We got there and the bar was closed, so we just sat & talked about our plans while the girls swam. Then off to bed we went...we had a BIG surprise planned for DD5 the next morning!
