When ever I tell the people I'm going back to Disney World they always ask me, why? I just went there last summer, surely I got that out of my system and can start acting like a mature adult:rolleyes: . They also double check I didn't have children since the last time they saw me and that's the reason I keep going. After all why would two adults want to go to Disney on their own. :rotfl: They also remind me I went to Disneyland Paris in December (and October :)) and by now the amount of trips I take I must have seen everything. I tell them it's my happy place :wizard: and it lets me let go of all my worries when I'm there. They then roll their eyes and walk away from me as soon as possible. They wouldn't want any of that Disney magic to rub off on them. :confused3

I'm Mel btw, I'm a 24 year old library assistant. I'm originally from Michigan but have been living in England with my English hubby for the last six years. My favorite characters are Donald, Stitch, Mulan, Meg and Tinkerbell. Along with Disney, my obessions include the X-files (part of my summer trip will involve seeing the 2nd X-files movie), Lost, video games, movies and writing novels that will probably never be published. :lmao:

My hubby Malc will be joining me. He's a 47 year old teaching assistant at a special education school. Malc's favorite characters are Sully, Boo, Stitch and Grumpy. His obessions include gardening, computers, Bill Bryson books, and chocolate. He is complete chocoholic and will sometimes eat up to 5 portions of chocolate a day. I on the other hand am not a fan of chocolate unless it's ice cream. Malc is also a vegetarian so this will sometimes influence our dining choices for the trip. :teacher:

The third member of our party is named Stitch. Here he is dressed as pirate.
132581PIC_0106-med.JPG

Not the real Stitch :upsidedow but a bag I got in Disneyland Paris which I enjoy dressing in Disney costumes and carrying around the parks (mostly for the attention it gets me:lmao:). Unfortunately for Stitch most of his costumes end up being princess dresses so he ends up being refered to as Stitcherella when he is having one of his more feminine days.princess:

The last member of our party is Faolan O' Focker.
132581PIC_0144-med.JPG

For those of you that don't know I am running the Lime Lovin' Croc exchange, of which Faolan is one of the crocs. We had Faolan a total of 3 days last year and couldn't stop myself from showing him the world for our whole trip this time.

Those of you paying attention will have noticed Malc is a lot older than me. This means sometimes people get confused and call me his daughter and him my father. Which I still don't understand since he is English and I'm American. :rotfl: Oh well.

Funny story, last time we were at Disney World the waitress at the 50s Prime Time Cafe tried to set me up with the teenage boys at the next table. Only to be told by me, that I'm married. She then asked where my husband was? I then pointed across the table. Her face turned so red I thought she was a tomato. This happens all the time to us and we just shrug it off now. This also means I also get mistaken for teenager or younger a lot of the time. I have been given the children's menu more than once in the last year. :lmao:

As I said eariler, this is our 2nd summer trip to Disney in a row. We will be going 13 days and staying at Port Orleans Riverside with free dining during our trip.popcorn:: Before Disney we will also be visiting my best friend in Michigan and staying with her for 2 days and than heading down to Cedar Point in Ohio for another two days.

I'm one of those people that loves to plan. For me planning a trip to Disney is almost as fun as being there. This is why I called and made most of our Adrs 180 days out at 7am on the dot Orlando time (noon here).:thumbsup2 Why I even had the Adrs I wanted planned 2 months out before I could even make them. And probably why I had this trip booked less than a month after we returned from Disney World the first time. Yes, I lied to myself and told myself it was so I would have free dining but really I just needed to know that we would be going back. :cloud9:

As much as I enjoy planning I'm not very good at following the plans I make.:rolleyes1 I had planned to make the rope drop more than once at Disney World and we were never once there in time, normally 5 or 10 minutes late. We were also normally a couple minutes late for our Adrs. I know, I know. I need to get myself sorted for this new trip. Anyway these are the plans that I probably won't follow for our August 2008 trip. I wasn't sure whether or not to include our plans for the part of the trip before Disney but I have for now anyway. Anyway, onto the plans...:teacher:

August 9th: Fly from London to Detroit. Meet Devin (my best friend) at the airport and drive back to her house.
August 10th: See the new X-files movie with Devin.
August 11th: Cedar Point with Devin and her boyfriend.
August 12th: Cedar Point day two.
August 13th: Fly to Disney World. Spend the rest of the day at the Magic Kingdom. Dinner at Crystal Palace.
August 14th: Animal Kingdom. Dinner at Boma.
August 15th: Univerisal Studios.
August 16th: Disney Hollywood Studios. Lunch at Sci fi Dine Inn.
August 17th: My 25th birthday!!! Spend the day at Epcot and after diner head to the Magic Kingdom for extra magic hours until 3am!:rotfl: Get my hair done at the Magic Kindom Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at 8:05am.:scared1: Have a late breakfast at Ohana. Dinner at 1900 Park Fare.
August 18th: Relax day! Sleep! Maybe visit Typhoon Lagoon and/or Disney Quest. Go back to Universal Studios for the evening? Shop at DownTown Disney? Or possibly Chip and Dale's Campfire movie?
August 19th: Disney Hollywood Studios. Lunch at 50s Prime Time Cafe (must get the pot roast:love:).
August 20th: Magic Kingdom. Lunch at Tony's Town Square.
August 21st: Epcot. Dinner at Les Chefs de France.
August 22nd: Malc's fake birthday! :lmao: Animal Kingdom. Breakfast at Donald's Safari breakfast. Dinner at 50s Prime Time Cafe.
August 23rd: Our fake Anniversary! Magic Kingdom. Breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table. Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern.
August 24th: Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Dinner at Chef Mickey's.
August 25th: Magic Kingdom. Fly home.:sad1:

Just to explain about the fake birthday and anniversary. We went to Disney around the same time last year which includes my real birthday on the 17th. Our anniversary (August 31st) and Malc's birthday (Sept 1st) fall too far away from my birthday for us ever to stay long enough at Disney to celebrate it all. I felt bad about this last year so I decided to move these dates up and surprise Malc on those dates. It was his first trip to the world and I wanted it to be as special as possible. I decided not to tell him which dates we would be celebrating things until the day of so I could plan some surprises for him. I ended up having special menus made up for our Lunch at Coral Reef and had a diver sign saying Happy Anniversary for him. He also had a birthday cupcake at Liberty Tree Tavern last year for his fake birthday and a card from Grumpy. So when making plans for our 2008 trip I thought it was best to celebrate those events on the same dates again. :yay:
Here is Malc getting Happy Birthday sang to him at Liberty Tree Tavern. Sorry it's so dark.

Hey Mel!

Just saw your PTR! :thumbsup2
Is it me or is the link in your sig new? I didn't even know you had a PTR until I saw your post in mine today!!!

I love your Stich (or Sticherella!)!!! :rotfl2:Did you make the outfits, or were they sold with it, like the Pal Mickey outfits?
It must be really fun to carry that around and have like a 2nd croc! (twice more fake pet to help with the kitty withdrawal! ;))

Your plan sounds great, and I love the idea of fake birthdays and anniversaries... altough I would never dare do that!

Seems like I'm the first poster (yay!), but seems like you didn't post for a while too... maybe you have too much work on the croc exchange thread? :confused3

I'm subscribing anyways, and I hope to see more... :goodvibes

I haven't had the link long, maybe a week or so.

I got most of Stitch's outfits are from Build a Bear workshop here in the UK and a couple on my last trip to the states from the US version. His WDW t-shirt is a dog shirt from Disney. I originally started buying the outfits for my pal mickey but they were all too big. Then last May I saw the Stitch bag while at Disneyland Paris and decided that it might fit the outfits I had.

Stitch is pretty fun to carry around, he can get too bulky when going on some rides but because he has backpack straps I just normally attach him to me somehow and he's good to go. The characters also love him, cause it gives them a prop to work with. :rotfl:

I haven't had much time for posting cause of work, I'm leaving one job and starting another soon and it's a bit stressful right now. I'm also planning a trip to Disneyland Paris for next week that I only booked a couple days ago. :woohoo:

Awww Mel i love stitchs outfits! Did you say he was a bag? where did you get his outfits from. I just love them :)

He is a bag, I got him from Disneyland Paris. All his outfits are from Build a Bear. I just got him a Tinkerbell outfit for our trip in August and am thinking about getting a Snow White one as well. :goodvibes

Them outfits are too cute.
I cant wait to see him in the Tinkerbell one :rotfl:

Mel-

You are so lucky to get to go to the parks so often! I'm so jealous. And I love Stitch(erella)! DH let me buy my first outfit for PAL Mickey when we were in WDW in Jan and I can't wait to buy more! I also did the diver with the special menu for DH's fake birthday! We do the same thing when we go close to a special day.

I've been doing lots of work for our trip lately, after finding the Creative DISigns forum I have made a bunch of t-shirts.

My favorite one. Shirt says: Princesses... Are so-o-o Over rated.
132581IMG_0319-med.JPG

Shirt says: You are never too old to be a princess.
132581IMG_0322-med.JPG

My birthday t-shirt. princess: Shirt says: Today is my birthday. Feel free to treat me like a princess.
132581IMG_0324-med.JPG

Our matching t-shirts for our fake anniversary. :yay: Shirts say: Celebrating 4 years of magic.
132581IMG_0326-med.JPG

One of Malc's shirts. Shirt says: Year of a milion screams 2008.
132581IMG_0329-med.JPG

Our other matching set of t-shirts. My shirt says: Of course, I'm a princess just ask my husband. Malc's says: Who were you expecting, prince charming?
132581IMG_0332-med.JPG

I also decided to book both the Segway Tour at Epcot and the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I really wanted to do the Segway tour our last trip but we did a Wishes Cruise for my birthday instead. I can't wait to do both of these. I've been reading a lot of books lately about Disney history and hope it will add to the experience of the Keys to the Kingdom tour.

Hey Mel!
Well of course I've been back more than a week (almost 2, if I'm counting right?), but really, I mean back on the DIS, and back here, on your PTR! ;)

I love your Tshirts! I told you the creative DISigns board was addictive! :rotfl:
I wish you'd added some subtitles, because for one or 2 of them, I can't make out the text though... (unless it's voluntary?). :confused3 (really, now just the 2nd one. I was able to make out all the others after some -or a lot- of squinting :cutie:)

I hope you like your 2 tours!
I'm not giving out anything (yeah, the TR is coming, but I had to screen throught the pix and then upload them, this took awhile... maybe I'll start tomorrow), anyways, just to tell you the Backstage magic tour was kinda fun, but mostly disappointing. More on the TR.
But by all means, this doesn't mean I advise you not to take the tours you have booked! I don't even think I would say to someone not to take the BMT... maybe just not strongly encourage paying the 200$/each to take it unless really, really interested. ...and maybe tell me what they think they're in for, and then I'd say "yes or no". 'cause you know, you don't want to spoil the magic... I didn't want to read any detailed review about it myself.

I did hear a lot of good things about the KTTK tour! Also about the segway tour. So I'm pretty sure both will be good! :thumbsup2

Please keep the PTR going, it's fun reading you! :goodvibes

I have added some text to the shirt pictures, as they are a bit hard to read. ::yes:: I went to build a bear today and picked up a little something for Stitch.
132581IMG_0336-med.JPG

Sometimes I feel bad for dressing him like a girl but the princess outfits just seem to suit him the best. :confused3

Mel

I am so proud of myself I booked the hubby something really nice for his fake birthday and I'm managed not to spill the beans yet. Want to know what I got him?

A hot air balloon ride!:cloud9: We will get up at 5am go help set of the balloon, ride around in it for a hour and than go enjoy a fun breakfast with Donald and Daisy at Animal Kingdom. He is going to be so shocked when the car picks us up and takes us to the balloon. It's something he's went on and on about doing for years but never even thought once about booking a flight. It's a good thing he has me to do it for him. :woohoo:

Mel

Hey Mel! I'm joining in on the plans! :) I'm a Michigander as well! Oh how I miss it there! Can't wait to hear more about your trip!

We have gone and done the trip now so this pre trip is finished. If you would like to hear about our adventure you can go here.
