How often do you make your younger children stop for potty breaks?

DD is four (will be five when we go). She alternates between being a camel and having a bladder the size of a pea. I'm guessing if we have to exit a line (leaving DH and DS behind) we probably can't get back in, right?

My DD does pretty good about not waiting too long. But I like the rule , if one person needs to potty, everyone goes. I also try and ask if she needs to go everytime we see a potty.

DS has only been out of diapers for a few weeks (still pretty pumped about it) and is only 2.5, but I would probably do a potty break before a line over 30 minutes if he hadn't gone in the last hour or so. We also do if one of us goes we both go (Daddy doesn't join in on that lol)

We too had the rule when the kids were younger that if one person used the restroom, everyone did.

As far as leaving the line and getting back in, that is a touchy subject. Many people don't mind but others do. Keep in mind that many of the queues are tight and you will have to physically push past people in order to get back to the rest of your family. I would be uncomfortable doing that, even now once I leave a line for any reason, I'm out.

We also follow the everyone goes when someone has to go rule.

I have a 4.5yo and 3.5yo. We usually hit the restroom before we leave the room, once we get to the park, about every 1.5-2 hours while in the park, then a quick stop before leaving for the resort. I make everyone go, even my 8yos who say they don't need to go that often. TS lunches are good because I can take the little ones to the bathroom while we wait for our food, eat and take them again while we wait for the bill without the long waits for park bathrooms.

We go before we go aka leave the room. Then we go after a few rides, basically I ask if anyone has to go before our next ride.

Our rule is that when someone has to go, everybody goes. We always make sure to go before we leave the room, before we leave the park, before we leave a restaurant, and before we get in any line if we haven't been in the last 1 1/2 hours. Even if they say they don't have to, they are required to try. And 9 times out of 10, they do go.

My personal rule is if we have to leave the line, we get back in the beginning. I don't think it's fair otherwise and I don't want my kids to grow up thinking they don't have to follow the rules. But with the things we do (above) I've only ever had to get out of a line once. And that was when a line temporarily broke down and the line ended up being much much longer than we had anticipated.

if you have to leave a line remember that you will be pushing past people and if someone behind you is in a wheelchair or ECV you may not be able to pass them, so you could be stuck. it is not any easier to leave a line than to get back your party

And always before we leave the park to get on the bus! Many times mine fall asleep on that bus ride and want to get straight into bed at the resort.

If we haven't been for awhile and we come across a toilet with out a queue we will all go and give it a try :rolleyes1

does anyone know which bathrooms have the small kid size toilets? is it just the baby care centers?
