So where was I? Oh yes, the sleepless ride on our way to Disney.
Surprisingly, we eventually made it to LA WITHOUT murdering any teenagers.
We took the quick and free shuttle to Hertz rent a car and Jeremy dropped me and the suitcases off at the convenient seating area. He came back with a smile on his face. Apparently Hertz had asked him if he was out here for anything special and when he said our honeymoon they automatically upgraded our car for FREE! Score!

No Ford Focus for us this trip

. Mazda 6 WOO HOO!
We made our way over to the car, managed to fit all of our luggage between the back seats and trunk (how people with children do this still boggles my mind) and made our way to
Disneyland!
But first we had to make a quick stop over to HoJo's to check in. I was crossing my fingers that the room would be ready so that I'd be able to freshen up. It's hard to go straight into action after just getting off a plane.
We checked in and all was well- the room was ready! Yahoo!
The next few minutes is a blur of bringing all the suitcases in, "PULL! PULL!" It was like Spartacus "ROW, ROW! ROW! Not fast enough, I'll kill you for bringing all of those shoes! ROW! ROW! ROW!"
Eventually head Roman and I had every piece in the room and collapsed on the bed. Tempted were we to fall back into lazy slumber, but I wasn't having it!
ME Jeremy get up :: pushing :: Get up Jeremy!! :: push push ::
JEREMY Five minutes, just five minutes ::rolling over pulling blanket over him
ME quietly and carefully walking over to sink where water and plastic cup are stored. We've played this game before. My opponent may catch on to my strategy.
JEREMY Kate. Don't you dare.
ME :: swiftly making progress to the bed, a daunting look in my eye
JEREMY ::just at the last second leaps out of the bed, a fiery look in his eye:: LET'S GO!
And so we were on our way.
The walk to Disneyland is very short. In NY terms it's about 2 avenues and 5 blocks. For the rest of the world about 10 minutes. On the way there. On the way back, half hour.
First order of business, The Mad Hatter. I was super psyched for our wedding ears, and of course my confidence just knowing we'd win a stay in Mickey's Penthouse while rocking these four leaf clovers.
The cast member was super nice and handed me the phone. Mickey and Minnie wanted to congratulate the new bride and groom. It was actually a pre-recorded session between the two of them which was really cute. Mickey kept making a bigger deal out of the wedding cake than the actual wedding making Minnie upset. Sounds familiar....
And folks this is what the beautiful couple looks like after not showering for 24 hours, being up for 48 hours straight (if you don't count the hour after the wedding) hungover, and being kept awake by teenagers.
And this was taken AFTER a nap later in the evening
You'll see a pattern with this look with the rest of the pictures from this day

:
We decided to make our way over to California Adventure for need of a much needed drink. This is a tradition for us and a way to unwind after a long travel day. First order of business is always a margarita

.
We made our way through the gates and under the bridge. The Food and Wine festival was going on. It's nothing like the Food and Wine festival from EPCOT though so don't get too excited. More like some restaurants with specialty menus and a few free and tiny testings.
We made our way straight over to the Grotto and plopped ourselves down excitedly reading the drink menu. 25 minutes later and still no service we had not only read the entire menu, we had remembered all of the recipes! FINALLY we were served and began to relax. We talked about our wedding the night before and how we were so excited to begin our honeymoon adventure as husband and wife

.
We finished our drinks and decided to make our way over to Corn Dog Castle to split a dog. The dog was great- but I'm a biased corn dog fan.
After our snack we made our way to the Monster's Inc ride when the lethargy spread over us like the plague. I'm honestly surprised we didn't fall asleep on the ride. It was really hard to appreciate it because we were just done. You all know the feeling I'm talking about. DELIRIUM. That being said, the ride was cute we just both knew our limits.
The walk back to HOJO's was a mirage. I honestly don't remember walking back to the hotel, or getting in the bed. It was as if I was black out drunk. Scary. We decided to nap until it was time for the fireworks, which would end our night.
We made it up just in time and raced over to Disneyland. Tired as I was I was NOT going to miss these! They were fabulous. Very different from Magic Kingdom. They start off the same with the little girl singing, "star light, star bright " (okay I'm seriously a sap because writing that just made me sentimental) but then they go on to various theming throughout the park. There's different segments such as Haunted Mansion (similar to what I've watched on
YouTube for the Hallowishes), Star Wars, Splash Mountain, etc. My favorite part was with Captain Hook trying to bombard the castle and there were special effects with fire and special laser lighting effects. Tinkerbell is also much more involved and flies over the castle periodically throughout the show. We fell in love with these fireworks and I've watched them many a time on You Tube since.
Knowing our limits we knew it was time to leave the park and get back to the room so that we could enjoy the park the next day. Sadly we departed stopping on the way at McDonalds for dinner and then crashed like two stuffed piggies.
