A Perfect Popup for Someone

Wow that amazing! It brings back some memories:thumbsup2 I noticed you sold it...are you working on another project? Do you have another camper?

Yes, we sold it........:charac2: .....and ended up buying a brand new 19' trailer (our first NEW one) that we only kept for two years before finding a beautiful used 30' Winnebago class A Sightseer, which I love. We had another project a couple years ago. We helped our daughter and son-in-law restore and refurbish a 70's trailer in the black, white and red "coke" theme, complete with new wallpaper, paint, upholstery, floor tiles, etc. I'll see if I can find some pics of it to post. I'll also look for an old picture of our beloved Apache - although it wasn't a "hardside". :dance3:

Hmmm, what are you doing looking at campers? You've fixed yours up so cute - of course you could go into the business of purchasing 'gently loved' campers and fixing them up with your special touch!

I'm a pop-up junkie too. I like to look at different pop-ups to get ideas for my own.

Oh I love refurbs!! Great job!

I wish I had thought to take before and after pics of the little motor home we have (at a relative's now). It's a 1972 Shasta and is adorable. We had to rip out the whole back wall, framing, and insulation due to rot. We replaced that back wall, put down a new floor, painted the inside white, re-covered all cushions, and hung new curtains.

The next time we go for a visit, I'll take pics!

Isn't it amazing what you can do if only you can look past the dirt and grime of age? I love those old things - and would love to take on another project, but my husband won't hear of it! :scared1:

We had an '82 Palomino like the one on your link. My kids grew up in it and it was great. Looking back now we can't figure out how we fit 4 grown-up people (kids were in high school by then) inside it with all our gear, but we did it somehow and have tons of great memories. :thumbsup2 Actually looked at a Trailmanor before we bought our Ti. DH didn't want to go back to setting things up and taking them down all the time (getting older now). Then looked at Jayco Jayfeather...almost bought that one, but something didn't seem right with the layout. DH found our Ti on e-bay (our dream rig) for such an unbelievable price that we jumped on it and we are so glad we did. It's the best!

I can't help looking on Ebay and Craigslist at the older popups and trailers. It's so rewarding and creative to refurbish one of those, isn't it? I'm still looking for some old pictures of the 70's trailer we helped our daughter and son-in-law finish and our old Apache.
