does anyone know if theres is a list perks you would get from buying an annual pass for Disneyland??? I know there are many different kinds and some have certain blackout dates.... Any information would be great...

Try going to disneyland.com and then clicking on Annual Passholder. When you get to the AP info, click on "discounts" and you should find what you're looking for.

Basically, with a Deluxe AP you get 10% off most park and hotel food, 20% off tours, and 10% off most food & merchandise in DTD (World of Disney is an exception unless you have a Premium AP). You also get the AP hotel rates. There may be other perks but I'm new to the ap thing and am just figuring it out myself. I kept forgetting to use my AP discount when I was there!

I will add that I'm not sure that the above info (which is according to the DL website) is current, as when I tried to use my Deluxe AP a couple of weeks ago at Naples and a couple of other places in DTD, they told me they only discounted for Premium APs. However, Haagen Daz and Build-a-Bear gave me a discount, so I don't know. I was given a little booklet of perks with my AP (2 weeks ago) but unfortunately, I tossed it.

ETA: With a premium AP, you get 15% off food in the hotels and parks and 10% off merchandise in most DTD stores.

And once you get the AP and register it, check on the AP holder page every so often.

There are links to things like special deals on Angels tickets, and to a local soccer team too.

Last Yuletime, Disneyland had a release date special for POTC3, that came with a matted picture of the Asian ship, along with a commemorative coin and a piece of the ship's sailcloth. Only offered at the parks. But for AP holders who couldn't get there, we could order it. It wasn't a special price -I certainly could have bought the DVD for less elsewhere especially with hubby working at amazon- but it was a special "package", and it made my hubby's Yule. :goodvibes

So it goes beyond just the discounts in the parks!

Oh, and they gave the pumpkin muffin recipe on the APholder pages last month. By the way? That recipe made at home was about 18 million times BETTER than the hard-ish, semi-dry, borderline nasty pumpkin muffin I had there yesterday.

Thats funny! Nasty pumpkin stuff.......... I wonder what happened to them?

The discounts start adding up right away, too! Like DizMe, I am also new to the world of APs, having just got my first one (a Premium, which has no blackout days at all!) in October. I began using it instantly for all of our meals, and saved $7.00 here, $5.00 there, $6.00 here, etc. as well as applied it to get discounts on a purchase I made in World of Disney and a purchase for my friend in one of the stores inside DCA. I mean, the purchases were unnecessary, but just as far as the food goes, we would have been eating at these places anyway, so to save money on the meals really helped. The character meals are quite costly (especially Goofy's), so the AP discount really comes in handy there too.

At the end of the trip, I had more money in my wallet than I had expected. Without those AP discounts, it would have been a different story!

I agree with bumbershoot. I had heard so much about the pumpkin muffins at DLR. I had one during the 3rd week of Oct. I was SO disappointed!!! Why didn't they follow their own recipe??? Where was the frosting in the middle??? I am so glad that I had made the muffin recipe before I went to DLR because, if I hadn't, I wouldn't have bothered with the recipe after trying their muffin. Very disappointing! Thank goodness for my muffins in the freezer! We upgraded to APs while we were there. The biggest perk is the special AP rates for the hotels. We were going to go after Presidents Day to stay at the DLH for 6 nights. After seeing the AP8 rate, I changes the ressie to Feb. 1 for 5 nights. Total savings = $1000. Well worth the $360 to upgrade the whole family!!!!

Canyongirl, I'm so glad you felt the same about the muffins. :)

I was going to chime in on your TR thread, Molly, but when I started thinking about the pumpkin muffins that we had last year, I think I have to agree with you and Canyongirl. From what I recall, they were a tad dry and I wasn't thrilled with the raisins or the cream cheese. I LOVE the Mickey pumpkin - or, as I like to call him, the Mick-o-Lantern - stuck in the top of it, but mine lost an ear and I didn't want to have to buy a new muffin on this past trip in October to replace the Mickey pumpkin, so I knew that meant I wasn't that thrilled with the taste of them. I like the idea and the look of them, but beyond that...not so much. I knw that there was also a plump pumpkin cupcake (without the Mick-o-Lantern in the top) being sold around DLR, and I wonder if that would have tasted better than the muffin.

I am hoping they trot out some nifty peppermint muffins or some other new Christmasy treats this year (aside from the peppermint fudge).

Also, a lot of the DTD merchants take the Deluxe AP for discounts. We saved $4 here and $5 there that really added up for our trip. Then, at the ESPN Zone DH asked at the game section if they offered any discounts to AP's. Come to find out, there were running a double points promotion and we got a 250 point card for the cost of 125...$25. Discounts at Catal, Libby Lu, Wetzels Pretzels and I am sure others I forgot. We found time and time again, that it did not hurt to ask about a discount!

I thought the merchandise discounts were exclusive to the premium AP. Do you really get merch discounts in DTD (except at WOD like DizMe mentioned) with a deluxe?

EDITED: Wow!!! I found the list for DTD merchants that give discounts, and that is quite a few of them! I never new you could get an AP discount at all of those places!.

I think you have to try and see. Some gave us a discount, and some did not. I don't think the list on disneyland.com is very current. It seems some retailers in DTD have either changed their policy or the people who served us were unaware of the discount for deluxe AP holders. We were told several times that "it's only for premium APs".

On my large but new, and vague/basic, AP pamphlet, it covers the DTD stuff as "special offers at select Downtown Disney District locations." And all APs are covered under that. So with those places it's not deluxe vs premium, but an offer for all APs.

I'll find my more specific, small pamphlet that I got late May that gives a bit more info...but I have to get my coffee first.

aw! I had a pumpkin muffin on Sunday and it was so, moist and delicious and :goodvibes the cream cheese inside was tasty. I'm sorry your muffins weren't up to par :headache:

AP holders also get special offers from time to time and an occasional special invite to sneak peek events. Also, there is a pin every month that is for sale only for AP holders. There are other little things other than discounts that I am sure I am forgetting.

Aww, bummer. I have bought...hmmm... maybe a total of a dozen muffins over the last few weeks on various visits. They are fabulous. Sorry yours weren't tasty. The ones I have been buying at the bakery on Main Street have been moist and oh so delicious.
