Hi All~
I am taking my family to WDW for 4 days (can't stay longer). Right now the rates for A/P at resorts in January are great. My question is -- can I buy a children's A/P pass to get the rate instead of the more expensive Adult A/P pass? Thanks!!

I have never tried it but I have read on these posts that you can use the childrens AP to get the discount.

While "they" always say only one member of the party has to be a AP holder, I think I read "them" say the AP had to be in an adult's name. When we have used the AP rate, they have always had a record of our AP in the reservation system. I think Disney merged that info into their ressie system a couple of years back. I have offered the AP and the CM always says they have the info already.

While there is a difference in the cost of an adult vs. a child's AP, it isn't worth risking paying rack rate for the $70 or so savings. But you can always call CRO or the resort directly to be sure.

At one time, it was restricted to an adult pass since a minor cannot make a room reservation. That restriction has been silently dropped. Any AP holder staying in the room will qualify for the AP discount now, even a child.
