Since you all helped us SO much planning our last WDW trip, I have a November question for you.

We are planning on being at WDW around the first week of November this year. How are the:

Prices?
Crowds?
Temperatures?

and

Hurricanes??

Thanks SO much in advance!

We have been going to Disney for the past 5 years for NJ Teacher's Convention(Convention is in Atlantic City) in November. This past year the first week of November was hot but not unbearable, the crowds were not as bad as say June, but after the convention was over the parks were not crowded at all. This year November is going to be considered regular season, so I am interested to see our difference in spending for a room this year. I love November in Disney, and it is our favorite time of year to go. Hurricane season is over by that point, so that is not really a concern.

Good Luck.

Have you made reservations yet? You may want to check when "Jersey Week" is and make them for the week after. Some say that JW affects the crowds and others say it don't. We usually go the second week of November since the kids have a couple of half-days that week. This past year was more crowded than usual and we thought it may have been because of the hurricanes and people needing to re-schedule.

Weather can be a mixed bag. We've had days that were in the 80's and days that started in the 30's. I usually pack for both seasons. We wear long pants and sleeves in the early morning, ditch them for shorts & t-shirts during the day, and back to the long stuff at night.

It's a great time of year because the heavy holiday crowds aren't there yet but the holiday decorations are up. If you haven't been to Disney that time of year yet, you will see how cool it is to be walking around listening to Christmas songs in Florida! :)

We were in WDW 4 times during the first week of Nov since '98. This past Nov 2-6, 2004, was by far the worst ! Tried to add on a night and all DVC resorts were booked solid. Couldn't believe how crowded the MK was on Thur Nov 4 especially. It was so bad (I put it right up there with summer crowds) that we had to leave the park by 3 pm. We wanted to leave even earlier than this ! Not sure if Jersey Week felt more crowded this year due to people also there that had to reschedule vacations due to the Aug/Sept hurricanes ? In past, this week has been much lighter so I just don't know why it was so crowded in '04.
Weather this past Nov was low 80's during the day and low 60's at night. We have experienced 40's at night in the past ('99 comes to mind), so you have to be prepared for anything.
As for prices---I'm assuming you mean resort prices ? I don't know a whole lot about that because we're DVC Members, but I think they do run some special discounts for that time period. They may not be released until closer to the time period, so make sure you make your ressies early and then you can always lock into a lower rate (should one become available) at a later date. This is a very popular time to go (Jersey Week, Food & Wine Festival) so book early. Good luck.

Hurricanes??
This is the very end of hurricane season and we never experienced one in the 4 times we visited during this time period. I will say we experienced tropical storm Katrina around Nov 1, 1999. It hit later in the evening and continued most of the night. The next day the sun was out but it was only like 42 degrees in the morning. So that's been the worst we've seen weather-wise during this time of the year.

We went the first week of November last year. I found out about the infamous JERSEY WEEK and worried, since we were planning around a friend's wedding and couldn't change dates. It turned out fine. With planning, and getting to the parks early, we did and saw just about everything we wanted. Got to do most of all four parks, TL, DTD, and some swimming at the resort, and we were only there four nights/ three days! Weather was nice (hotter than I thought it would be), crowds weren't too bad. I'd go again that time of year- we'll be there again this Oct 29- Nov 4!

If you are going between the beginning of November and about the 6th, you should be in good shape. This year, the second week will be the crowded one. Jersey week, Veterens Day, Super Soap weekend, and the tail end of Epcot's Food and Wine Festival all fall on or around the weekend of Nov. 11- 13. Expect the parks to really fill up that week and weekend.

Oh! Editing to add that this year, Nov. is considered Regular Season- in years past it was considered Value Season. So resort prices are higher this year. Discount codes aren't out yet, but I'm guessing there won't be so many good deals this year. Changing to Regular Season seems to be an indicator that occupancy has increased to the point that Disney doesn't have to offer as many discounts to get people to the parks... they are already coming!

It turned out fine. With planning, and getting to the parks early, we did and saw just about everything we wanted. , crowds weren't too bad.
Wow.....it seems funny we were there the same time and have different perceptions ?! LOL I will admit Nov 3 was nice in the MK, but Nov 4 was AWFUL. There were 90 min waits for the following most of Nov 4 : Space Mtn, Splash Mtn, Big Thunder Mtn, Peter Pan, Pooh, Haunted Mansion, Dumbo.....just to name a few. AK on Fri Nov 5 was fine until about 10:30-11 am when it became a mob scene. Luckily we had gotten there for Early Morning Entry or we would have had 90 min waits for most of that park too. Oh yeah......90 min for Test Track, 45 min for Spaceship Earth, 45 min Mission Space too....but for the most part Epcot was ok. The World Showcase was packed for Food & Wine though on Nov 4 & 5.
Maybe MomofKatie and I were just at different parks on different days....lol ? I just don't consider so many numerous 90 min waits as being "fine" for offseason. :confused3

Prices? I went last November the week before Thanksgiving, which was off-season. Starting this year, it's considered peak season.
Crowds? Not bad at all. We got to the parks at about 10 every morning and walked right on most of the rides. Our longest wait was about 15 minutes.
Temperatures? low 80's during the day, 50's at night.

and

Hurricanes?? There weren't any, lol.
