The reason most rental car agents are such high pressure about selling you the LDW is that their jobs depend on it!!
My brother worked for a rental car agency here at home and thought he was doing a great job and was about to be made manager of the store, then one day, he came to work and was terminated immediately.
The specific reason they cited was that his LDW/insurance sales were not high enough!!
This particular agency's goal was to have it sold on 2 out of 5 rentals.
