A Not So Scary Trip Report! Sept 2009-WL!!! Update 2/14

We didn't have a good time at the WCC either. It must have been a bad week for them. Our waitress was very rude and even complained that my daughter had taken one of the coffee cups since "She WAS going to put my coffee in it, but now she couldn't." Even though I didn't want coffee, she rolled her eyes at us. It was awful! We tried talking to a manager but they were "in a meeting".

That's crazy!!! I can't believe that person did that! Wow....insane. That's supposed to be a FUN and CRAZY place and I figured it would be that way all day. Ah well...

Great update Karen! The food at Coral Reef looks great!!!:goodvibes

Thanks so much! Coral REef was really good!!! :0)

Another fantastic update!! Great pics at Coral Reef..the sea turtle did the same thing when we were there, it was so peaceful to watch.

Thanks so much! That sea turtle is funny...he must like the attention!! lol

Another great update Karen. :thumbsup2 Happy New Year!!! It sounds like the day ended well and an awesome start to the next day. When I was down in Dec., that was my first time in The Seas, I rode the Nemo ride, that was cool and was kind of looking around, I had spent a lot of time in line for Soarin and it was getting late after the Nemo ride so I didn't spend as much time as I would have liked. It looks neat in there and Coral Reef looks fun and the food looks amazing. Keep up the great work, as always I enjoy your trip reports so very much, they are a huge bright spot in my days. Can't wait to read and see all about your trip around WS. :goodvibes

Aww thanks! happy New Year to you too! :0) Oh it is neat inside the seas! So many different places to explore and see!! :0) Thanks again so much!!! Hope you have a good week!

Tuesday, September 15, 2009 - Jason's Birthday Celebration Continued

For our World Showcase tour, we decided to start with Canada. Now WS never really interested me before...the movies, the sights, the details...but once I got to researching it more, everything looked so neat so we decided to check it out! I never realized how much I was missing! We knew we had reservations at the Garden Grill in a few hours, so we still decided to take our time, get as far as we could, then come back another day and finsh up the countries.

Like I said, Canada first! What a cute and quaint little place! I loved EVERY country but I think Canada was one of my favorites! :0)

dw221.jpg

lol

dw222.jpg

We also watched O Canada in circle vision which I had never seen before. Out of all of the countries movies, Canada's was my favorite! :0)

dw223.jpg

We went inside the trading post and without realizing it, I set my sunglasses down by the hats...whoops...

dw224.jpg

This was some kids thing...

dw225.jpg

After this, Jason decided he was going to put a hat on me in every country! lol

dw226.jpg

I put my sunglasses down on the ledge behind me...and left them there....

Now onto the United Kingdom

dw227.jpg

dw228.jpg

Store front window

dw229.jpg

We couldn't find ANY INTERESTING hats here so we settled with this! lol There were some kind of bucket hats behind me but Jason said those weren't cool enough...hahah

dw230.jpg

Quite streets

dw231.jpg

As we were leaving the little shop, we saw these two....

dw232.jpg

So we stopped for a picture with Alice! :0)

dw234.jpg

dw236.jpg

After the UK, you have to cross the bridge and to your right, you can see the International Gateway

dw235.jpg

......................CONT......................

.....................CONT........................

dw237.jpg

The next country was France.

dw238.jpg

I thought this was cute! :0)

dw239.jpg

I liked this country too...it was my 2nd favorite!

dw240.jpg

We did watch the movie here and I thought it showed some BEAUTIFUL images of France. Jason fell asleep if I remember right...lol

dw241.jpg

Loved this stained glass behind me!

dw242.jpg

Jason saw this gargoyle on the bookshelf and he started petting it! Haha He's so silly sometimes!

dw243.jpg

dw245.jpg

Oooh lala!

It was after I took this picture that I realized I no longer had my sunglasses! Aaah! So I remembered setting them down in CANADA so I ran all the way back to Canada to see if I could retrieve them. Someone had turned them into the register...thank goodness! I had my sunglasses back once more!!! :0)

dw246.jpg

We saw these guys once we stepped outside but we didn't stay long.

dw247.jpg

Next, we moved onto Morocco....

The only thing I knew of Morocco before we saw it was that my sister in law got sick on the food a few years before when she was there for Magic Music days with her High School and she wasn't able to march in the parade. Her warning to us before every trip is...STAY AWAY FROM MOROCCAN FOOD!! :)

dw248.jpg

dw249.jpg

dw250.jpg

I think this is where Aladdin is supposed to be to take pictures so Jason posed instead since Aladdin isn't there! Haha

dw251.jpg

I felt a little like "I Dream of Jeannie!" Hehe

dw252.jpg

It's really pretty inside the courtyard

dw253.jpg

Looking up

dw254.jpg

I found a Hidden Mickey!

Next up: Japan

dw256.jpg

We want to try the table service restaurant here one day just to see.

dw255.jpg

dw257.jpg

Of course their shop was HUGE! We could have spent hours inside! When we came one time when I was a baby, my mom and dad had a fan painted with our names on it. It lasted for FOREVER then finally a few years ago, it started to fall apart a little. the fan part is tearing away from the outer rim. We looked for another one that was similar but we couldn't find it! Oh well!

dw260.jpg

After finishing up in Japan, it was getting close to our ADR times so we turned around and headed back to the Land.

dw258.jpg

dw259.jpg

We saw those dang Kim Possible phones EVERYWHERE! Didn't matter age or anything...old, young, teens, whoever had those little purple phones doing the Kim Possible adventure game.

dw261.jpg

I was acting silly here for a picture like I was videoing something when I heard that little KP tune...it was some kid trying to solve his case so I took the picture and moved on... lol

Coming up, The Garden Grill and MNSSHP!!!!!!

Great updates and absolutely beautiful pictures around World Showcase! I want to go back and spend more time there. I felt like I rushed through because I was so cold!

Great WS review!:thumbsup2

Glad you took time to explore this trip....WS is one of my favourite spots in all of WDW!:goodvibes

Karen, another great update!!!:thumbsup2 Wow, your pictures around WS are beautiful!!! I have kind of explored around WS a little, it is neat. I love France, that is my favorite one!!! Can't wait to read and see more and hear all about the Garden Grill. I ate there once, I enjoyed it. When I was down in Dec. I went past it on my eay to ride Soarin and it smelled so yummy. Everything was so booked and crowded though since it was Christmas and I had planned the trip so late. Oh well. As always you are a bright spot in my day. Can't wait to read and see more of your adventures.

Hey Karen, its just me again, I keep meaning to ask and keep forgetting. Since you are all from New Orleans, have you seen The Princess and the Frog yet?? Just curious as to what you thought, it is my new favorite Princess movie, it was awesome and I really feel like while writing that they were for sure thinking of doing some revamping over in NOS at Disneyland. Just curious as to what you thought.:goodvibes

You will absolutely have to eat at Japan on your next trip. I know some people don't like it because you can be seated with strangers depending on the size of your party, but we had great people sit with us and the food and entertainment was great!!!

I'm a little prejudice...but Canada is beautiful isn't it;)

Hey Karen! Joining your report...........I LOVE the Wilderness Lodge......one of my favorites to stay at too! Great report so far and your pictures are fabulous! :goodvibes Can't wait for more..............so glad you finally checked out the WS too.....it's so worth taking the time to explore! :thumbsup2

You have some really great photos in these updates Karen! :thumbsup2

You would not have said that if you had seen the o'canada movie's previous version lol

The KP missions look cute. But I hate that in the Japan shop (my fave in World showcase) there's a little doll that burps. So annoying!

Hey guys...I'm going to catch up with this later because on THURSDAY MORNING, I leave for a weekend at Disney World only this time, it's to run the HALF MARATHON! I'm so excited I can't wait! Hope you guys have a good rest of your week and weekend and I'll check back in when I return! :goodvibes

OMG Karen - that's awesome!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

Are you doing another brides weekend? Is Heather and Jen going to be there? Please do another TR!!!:goodvibes

Have a blast Karen!!! Now you will have another trippe to write!!! :goodvibes

Yay! I found you! I am so glad you are doing the TR. I haven't started mine from DisneyLand - things have just been too crazy, but I LOVED the GC and DLR. Gasp - I loved it more that WDW. DH thinks I'm crazy, but I really did. Thanks for your tips!

LOVE the WL pictures. This is still #1 on places I want to stay list, but I think we are going to end up at CBR in May. We are planning a trip to catch a Space Shuttle launch.

Great report so far (as usual), looking forward to more!
Way to go...running the 1/2 marathon!!! I wanted to do it this year too, but maybe next year?

Hope you had a blast.

I wish I had the discipline to run a marathon :)
