A Not So Scary Trip Report! Sept 2009-WL!!! Update 2/14

Hi I'm Karen...my DH is Jason. We recently took a trip with my parents to WDW in September and had a GREAT time!!! If you are interested, links to my other TR's are in my signature!

We woke up really early to meet my parents at their house for 6 a.m. My dad was planning on driving us all to the New Orleans airport!

We got there by 6 a.m. and guess who wasn't ready? My mom!

We finally left at 6:30 a.m. Late. Ugh. But that's ok. we still made it in plenty time. We stopped at Cracker Barrell along the way for Breakfast.

We were going to do Southwest curbside check in....so we got all of our bags out and guess what? No one was there! So after waiting a few minutes, my dad decided to take the car to park it and meet back up with us. A few minutes later, I realized I left my Baggallini in the CAR! AAAAH So I called my dad and he brought it. Thank goodness he was still in his car!

YAY on time!!! That's what I like to see! haha!

My dad and mom are silly. They said they were going to wear their "Vacation" shirts...wow they are something else!

Waitin on the plane!

While sitting down to wait on the plane, everyone's phones started ringing. It was really funny...we all answered them and it was Southwest telling us that our gate had changed! haha!

It was cloudy and overcast and I was scared to fly in it but I wanted to get to WDW!

The Mississippi!

This seriously was the WORST plane ride of my life! We had SO MUCH turbulence and we kept dropping. Oh I was praying for my LIFE the entire way there. I was so scared!!!!!!

We landed fine and I wanted to kiss the ground I was so happy!

We were only given 4 ME tags (since they put us all together in a package) but my dad ended up having an extra bag. He checked it on the plane and we had to wait at baggage claim for that one for him. After that, we headed straight for ME! They've changed it up a little bit. You don't have to check in any longer....if you have the booklet that your tags came with, you just go right up to the read carpet and someone directs you where to go. It's really nice not having to wait in that line!

We knew we were close when we saw the MK sign and the Monorail!!!

Hey from a fellow Louisiana resident! I'm up here in West Monroe. Loving the report so far. We won't make our next trip to Disney (the 15th) until the end of May, 2010 and trip reports are what keep me sane.

Sunday, September 13, 2009 Continued....

We pulled up to the Wilderness Lodge and this is the first thing I could get a decent picture of!

I couldn't believe we were here!

The lobby is amazing...I was in awe!!

This was under the registration desk! So funny!

For the first night, we all shared a room. It was a room only reservation.

If I remember right, we were on the 4th floor.

It was a really pretty view!!! It also started raining about that time but it wasn't a downpour, just a light rain.

Our plans for the afternoon were to meet up with our old Youth Pastors who now live in FL. They live like 30-40 minutes away from WDW so they wanted to see us! I was so happy they were willing to drive over to see us!!! We met up at DTD!

We got there all happy and excited to be in WDW and to see our old youth pastors!

We decided to eat at Earl for dinner!

They are awesome! They both really really really helped me when I was going through a low point in my life. I'm so glad we were able to see them!

After we ate, we browsed around a little with them!

We started in the Christmas store first. Can you tell which one is different? Yeah, Jason did that! lol

Now into WoD! My dad's running joke...he's Grumpy and my mom is Dopey!

Next came ICE CREAM my favorite part! Well, when I went to check out with my Disney Rewards card, it wouldn't take it! I was so confused....so I had to run over to Guest Relations and get a new card and transfer all the points over to that card. The guy who helped me on the phone was super nice, though!

This was just as yummy as I remember it!!! Heather and I each got one in January for the meet! It's ice cream mixed with their chocolate caramel pieces! YUM!!!

We also walked over to the Team Mickey store...

I had never noticed this before!

After shopping and not buying anything, lol we went back to the hotel to explore!

Back up on the 4th floor....

I just love Disney's details!!!

They had little spots with chairs and tables ... it was really cool!

Jason wanted to see the gaming area so we went in there

My dad sat down at this race car and hit start and a game started! lol! Free game!

After that, we explored the shop a little bit

And then we went to sleep!

Up next: Our first full day at Disney!! The Magic Kingdom!!!!

Karen, great update!!! Love the Wildnerness Lodge, so pretty!!! Your pictures are great, as always. I was hoping to make it over there to see it at Christmas when I was down but didn't have a chance. I had a magical trip and Disney at Christmas is just truly amazing. Lots of great times to treasure were had. That is so cool that you were able to meet up with your old Youth Pastors, what a neat thing. I remember my youth group leaders, they helped me through some really rough spots too, I think that is so neat. Can't wait to read about your first full day at MK. Merry Christmas Karen.
