Jack is my headache. I'm sure most people don't name their headaches but after 2 weeks I have decided that if he is going to reside in my head and leave me in pain, I might as well name him. :rotfl:

Why Jack you ask. Well, he was going to be Fred...but then I remembered that a guy I once dated who later was convicted of raping and beating up a 14 year old he met on the internet, was probably not the best name for my headache. So I chose Jack...as in Jack the Ripper!! :lmao: I figured if he was putting me in pain I might as well give him a good name!

Why is staying so long and what I have done to oust him from my poor pitiful brain?? I have taken a vast quanitity and variety of rx meds and OTC meds, I have increased sleep, I've decreased sleep, I've added more water to my diet and cut out more junk. I've increased exercise, I've decreased exercise. I've whined, I've moaned, and I've decided to accept it. He is here to stay.

So please welcome Jack to the DIS! I hope he finds a nice home here (or maybe someone else to go visit!! :teeth: )

Tara,

Have you tried dropping something really heavy on your foot? It'll hurt so bad you'll forget all about Jack ;) . Hope he finds someone nasty person to torture soon and leaves you alone.

Tara, have you tried some chocolate? Helps my headaches....

That's funny because on Sunday I really did kick my toe on the table and it hurt something fierece! And no my head didn't hurt for about the next 20 minutes...although the broken toe was a bit sore for a while longer!! :lmao: I'm afraid if I try this approach all I will end up with is 10 broken toes and my head will still hurt!!

agotta...I have a huge bucket of chocolate sitting next to me...my waist line is is enjoying it, but Jack doens't care for it!! Maybe I need expensive chocolates like in the picture!! I'll go have some now and see if they will help!!

Have you recently given up drinking coffee? I started drinking coffee again because the caffeine withdrawal was so awful.

If you're taking lots of OTC or Rx meds you might be having rebound headaches. I had to go on 2 weeks of prednisone so that I could get off all the meds that I was on for my migraines.

I feel for you, being the headache queen myself. I have a dull headache today, which I'm hoping won't turn into a full-fledged migraine.

Please tell me you have seen a dr...this is way too long. Do you normally get headaches? Are they migraines?

Sweet angel: NOpe, haven't given up caffine...that's the one thing that usually gets rid of my headaches. This one started off as a migraine and I htought that maybe I had not had enough caffine. So I increase caffine, that didn't work. I increased my water intake...thinking that maybe I was dehydrated...that didn't work!

Tigger&Belle: I have quit taking anything for it because that is what I was afraid of. So I am 4 days with no meds and it isn't any better. I hope your headahe doesn't become a migraine!!

Today it is more annoying than anything! I don't feel the need to claw my eyeball out!! :lmao:

I know it is stress and unfortunately I don't have anyway to get rid of the stress right now...so I figure if I joke about it I will feel better!!

No I haven't seen a doctor. I know why I'm getting them, stress, but right now there isn't much that can be done about the stress. I'm hoping that the stress level I have right now will begin to lessen in the coming weeks...

What I really need is about two weeks by myself in a secluded place...of course I need access to my computer, food that I don't have to prepare, shopping for the retail therapy, and a massage therapist!! Then I will feel better!!

thanks!!
