A New Way to do Fast Pass and Return Tickets?

Wouldn't this be a better idea with handling the Fast passes and Return Ticket passes. I was thinking, why not take those and just have the CM hand them out when you're entering the park?

The CM can ask "Do you want a FP or RT for Thunder Mountain?" "Yes" and there ya go!

That way you don't have to run with the bulls and fight the crowd trying to nail a pass.

I keep hearing horror stories about the new Return Tickets for the Frozen sisters and it's still chaotic! I don't want to miss my chance at getting one of these passes if I got to fight the crowds haha.

What do you think of this idea concept?

It would create a bottleneck at the front of the park. Many guests don't even use FP, and this would negatively impact them far more disproportionately than having guests go to the rides to get FPs for those rides. The a Frozen return times are separate from the FP system, so while it's nice to see them try different ways of managing the waits for that attraction, I wouldn't want to see that system replace something that currently works fine at DLR.

It would be like free samples at the grocery store. I wasn't going to take one but that that you offered it I guess I'll have one....lol

The lines are bad enough at the entrance because first time guests have to get their pictures taken. (I still dont understand why there isnt a designated line for AP holders) However, I would think that strategically placed kiosks that print FP for all attractions would be a good idea.

No. The whole point of the FastPass and Return Ticket system is that you would have "physically" entered the line earlier by going to the attraction, and now your spot is being held "virtually."

But I hear Florida has a system that's working out swimmingly where you don't even have to enter the park to get your fastpass!

/sarcasm

Because they tried separating APs and tickets when they started the pictures and it failed miserably. The lines were worse when people had to be constantly redirected and parties were forced to split up when they had a mix of APs and tickets. I have never been delayed more than a few seconds by the picture. If anything it speeds up the delay of people looking for their ticket at the turnstile because they didn't have it out. Most delays still happen at the turnstile, the CM with the scanner will be done with a party before the turnstile clears in front of then most of the time.

Maybe they could just make it electronic and let you pick FPs on your smartphone.

No.....wait.

Be careful what you wish for. The current system works beautifully. Nothing needs to change.

Other than the Frozen M & G, I don't really encounter anything like this. I kinda like the way things are now. I love walking around the park getting these. Since, I'm the designated FP runner, it gives me a few minutes to myself.

Aside from the points others have brought up, I don't really care for making FP's too convenient. The minor inconvenience of actually having to walk to the ride makes them more valuable.

In disney world the fast passes can be selected 2 months in advance with the magic bands.....:lovestruc

As I said. Be careful what you wish for.

Lines are up on all the secondary attractions that never needed them before. FP was added to nearly all attractions, but you are limited to 3. And there are reports every day of people trying to choose FPs 60 days out being closed out because they are all gone already.
