This doesn't have to do with Disney, other than DH and I are annual visitors. Instead of a fall WDW trip, we decided to visit Quebec City. Our return flight was set for Tuesday Sept 11. Of course, we were stranded in Quebec City. I want to give my heartfelt thank you's to all Canadian residents who were so compassionate to us. I thought that I wouldn't be able to see any difference in the city that morning... that everyone would still be about their business. Wrong! The Canadians were horrified, and reached out to anyone from the states. Everyone in the shops and bistros asked us if we were Americans, how sorry they were, how angry, etc. Watching a national disaster from a different country was a unique experience. And the people of Canada made it very memorable. Thank you for your support. I can't wait to visit other parts of Canada soon.

I am glad you were treated so well in Quebec. Here in my city in Ontario, there are many American flags flying, lots of red white and blue ribbons decorating buildings etc. My daughter works at McDonald's and they were handing out red, white and blue ribbons for both their employees and customers to wear. This inspired my daughter to gather a bunch of her friends together on Saturday night to make more ribbons to distribute at her high school today and to hopefully garner a large donation for the Red Cross from those ribbons. This tragedy affected us all and our hearts go out to all of our American friends.

Dee & Greg - It's very good to hear that you were so well treated when you were stranded in Quebec City. Although there may be differences between our two countries, there are so many, many more similarities in our way of life. I think every Canadian must feel grief and horror about the events of the past week. I'm glad you're home again (at least I'm assuming you are) after your trip.

We were probably the first plane out of Quebec City Friday afternoon. We were a charter, so we didn't have outside passengers. The security people at the Quebec airport were so polite! I can't say enough wonderful things about how we were treated during our entire stay. I will certainly tell all of my American friends to visit Canada, and specifically Quebec City. I have been to Toronto, and the University of Guelph (sp?), and loved that city, too. We are truly one big world, aren't we?
